Trying to sleep will only keep you awake. Try some of the relaxation methods described in the tutorials section.
If you think you can't, you're right.

dont try to hard, If your too exited and you try too hard, you wont go to sleep. You may want to leave lucid dreaming alone for a few days or dont try to go to sleep so hard.

      ^Probably

      Hi Jamal,

I agree with the above. However, if you still want to "try", why not give your body (and mind) some help in getting tired?

Go out for a long walk or get involved in some sort of athletic activity during the day. Don't do it right before bed, as that will raise your heart rate and get your addrenalin going. Just have dinner, then do some sort of physical activity.

Later when it's time for bed, do something that will tire your mind. Try reading, playing cards - I would not recommend video games, as that will also raise your heart rate.

Many have simply logged onto the site before bedtime and spent a few minutes reading posts. That's probably the most productive way to get yourself tired AND get in the mood to LD.
