      Lightbulb Lucid Triggering CD

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but I have been practicing the art of lucid dreaming for seven years now (with breaks every now and then).
I've never had any luck once so ever, my dream recall in dreams is excellent BUT I seem to be so incredibly DENSE in my dreams I can never realized I'm dreaming.
I finally came up with an idea that might help. My alarm clock always seems to interupt my dream every morning so I was thinking about recording my voice on a CD and say things like "You are sleeping in your bed and you are dreaming" so I will hear that in my dream instead.

Has anybody here ever tried making a "Lucid Triggering CD" before, and does it work? It would be really really neat if I finally found something that could help me have lucid dreams.

Thanking you in advance, HANK W.

      Welcome to the forum.
Theres already atleast one mp3 i know of out there which does that same thing..
I know some people have found it quite effective, but i also think that a lot had difficulty sleeping with the voices playing. It's probably all about getting the right volume and the right timing for the voice to start.

I used the exact same method as the one you mentioned. I recorded myself for about 15 minutes repeated "You are dreaming, don't wake up from the dream" yada yada. Just make sure your voice on the CD is relaxed and a smooth tone. The volume on your CD Player Alarm Clock should be set loud enough so you hear the CD in your dream, but quiet enough so it doesn't wake you up!
Also, make sure the clip of your voice is LONG! If it's only a few seconds in length, I guarantee you'll sleep right through it, or perhaps you won't even be dreaming when it goes off! I suggest the voice clip is at least 15 minutes long. You will also need to adjust the volume, so everything is perfect. If used correctly, this is an excellent method for lucid hopeful's when all else has failed.

Yehh, infact it'd probably be a good idea to actually set your alarm for about 6 hours after you go to sleep, and put the cd on then. That way you'll be in the middle of your biggest REM period when you're listening to it.

Thanks for your help Chris and Victoria. I tried my CD trick for the first time last night, and I completely slept through it. I'll make a longer CD for tonight and I'll turn the volume a little louder so it's actually heard in my dream. Oh yes, and I'll set my alarm to wake me up before the CD goes off.

when i made my lucid triggering cd i made it last for an hour so it was guaranteed to make its way in my dream. even if the cd keeps repeated the same phrases over and over again its better than a clip thats only a few seconds long because that wont work at least for me and the majority of people

P.S. the proper term for your "Lucid Triggering CD" is "Subliminal Audio". and they work like a charm

Subliminal Audio's work even better if you have good dream recall, do you keep a dream journal? When I first started using MY audio CD to help me lucid dream, I simply slept through it every night, or it would wake me up completely. But as soon as I started using a dream journal, not only did my dream recall increase dramatically, but I found the audio CD was actually being noticed in my dreams, resulting in lucid dreams!

i did put an MP3 in my ipod reapeating the word "magic", but i got tired of hearin it over and over so i had to turn it off. It was also preventing me from falling asleep.

I bought that speaker thing that goes under your pillow,i think i ordered it from this website,or some dreaming website...anyway you plug it into your iPod or whatever and the sound comes through your pillow really faintly so it doesnt wake you up. The only problem is,there is no alarm on your iPod so you cant make it turn on anytime during the night. But i tried falling asleep to it hoping that it would set my mind on the right path. I had 90 minutes of music on this playlist with all songs about sleeping or songs that would relax me,and i had "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche on there cuz that song would surely tell me i was dreaming! Well,it backfired badly. I couldn't fall asleep, and i started it over and i still couldnt fall asleep,so i was laying there for 3 hours listening to it! I finally shut it off just so i could get some sleep and i realized there is no way i can use this cuz it prevents me from sleeping (even at a VERY low volume) and i cant set it to turn on while i'm sleeping,so i'm kinda screwed with this thing. I dont have a cd player alarm clock, just a regular one i've had for 20 years so its very basic LOL My stereo has an alarm on it but every time it turns itself on and gets to the cd,it shuffles around and makes loud clicking noises that wakes me up before the music even starts! UGH

      Dear rockchick:
Umm, perhaps instead of having the iPod or MP3 or whatever play non-stop feedback, you could make it have few minutes of silence in between audio? The first CD I made was non-stop talking, and it woke me up all the time too. But then I made a second CD, but between each clip there was a three minute pause. For example the CD would say:
      "You are dreaming"
      (pause for three minutes)
      "Do a reality check"
      (pause for three minutes)
      etc etc.

If your audio device has pauses in between its messages, it would less likely wake you up maybe??

yeah the cassette i made for myself has a 3-minute pause between each message, or else it would wake me up too. i also always prepare myself before falling asleep that as soon as hear those lucid messages play themselves, I am going to do a reality check or whatever in my dream
