      Greetings

Hello Everybody. My name is Alex.

For the last two weeks I have been trying to lucid dream. I have known about Lucid Dreaming for over two years now but never really tried or cared. I have already done alot of studying about lucid dreaming these last couple of weeks. My dream recall already improved from one image in my head per night to normally being able to recall a full dream per night (thank you dream journal). Possibly even two on some nights. I am planning on starting a dream journal on this site.

I have also already had some minor LD's but I lost it stright away. At the moment I have been following billybob_001's 'How to Lucid Dream' Guide. Which seems to be helping me. I tried to start his sleep schedule last night by trying to WBTB. I think it worked as I remember slighty being lucid. But I cant remember much so I think I need to improve my recall first.

Anyway more about me when I am not asleep. I am 16 and I will be finishing high school soon. I am intrested in sports , gaming, macintosh, photography and of course dreaming. I like to think of myself as Mature (most of the time). I am also fairly Intellegent. Im quite nice but not the nicest person in the world. I am also addicted to a tv show called "Heroes" as well as lucid dreaming atm.

I do have a few questions.

      1) If I cant remember much about my WBTB lucid dream is that because my recall is not good enough?

      2) How many dreams per night is good enough to start trying inducting techniques?

      3) I have attempted to WILD but even if I sit in a comfortable positon I find myself finding it uncomforty after about 5 minutes?

Thanks all! This site does seem really friendly and I should have registed sooner.

Hi Alex, welcome to the forums.

      1) I dont know if it has to do with recall, are you waking up straight after the lucid and writing it down?

      2) There is no real number, and thats because no one really knows for sure how many dreams they have in a night. Id say decent recall is enough to really get started.

      3) WILDS are complicated, Ive found that the way to give yourself a half-decent chance at succeeding is to do WBTB and then follow with a wild. Although it can be done from a sitting position its much more likely to happen in a normal sleep position: after all, youre trying to trick your body into sleeping.

      Hope this has helped somewhat!

      Welcome to DV.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

      Welcome Tsunami!

I like the avie, if you're a Heroes fan, go to the entertainment forum and you will find a heroes thread

Ok with the answers to the questions:

      1) Not necessarily, some people just have off days with recall, as long as you constantely record your dreams its all ok.

      2) Well you can start when ever you like, you don't have to wait until you remember a certain number of dreams. Most people tend to remember 3 dreams a night on average, give or take.

      3) As said earlier, WILDs are very hard and can be annoying. Try mixing a WBTB with a MILD.

First off thanks for the welcome and info. So I will try a WBTB and a MILD tonight then.

3 nights on average? How long does it take to get to that sort of level in terms of dream recall? Also no because I didnt have time to do anything in my lucid it was so short all I have is memory in my head of me becoming lucid. Cant remember anything else at all.
