Hello oh great dreamers!

First of all I would like to commend the principals responsible for the Dream Views web site and related forums. Well done.

I was not familiar with lucid dreaming until I stumbled across the term in an unrelated yahoo search. No, this wasn't a yahoo search done in my sleep

.

Lucid dreaming caught my eye because I have experienced a handful of DILDs over the past couple of years without knowing there was a term for such dreams. My DILDs were entirely by accident but I have often wondered if there was a way to train/teach myself how to have lucid dreams more frequently. Looks like I've found the place that can/will help me out with my LD training.

Another term I had not heard of until reading the Dream Views web pages was dream signs. I immediately thought, "wow!, I already have one of those!". The dream sign I have is in the form of extreme vertigo in my dreams. This feeling of vertigo does not always trigger a DILD but when I have had a DILD it has been triggered by this feeling of vertigo. The vertigo is so intense it's almost paralyzing.

My most recent DILD occured two nights ago which was triggered by my vertigo dream sign. The difference between this DILD and my previous DILDs is that I knew I had crossed over into a DILD (from reading about DILDs on your web site the previous week). Of course, I tried to exert too much control in my DILD by trying to "queue the blonde" and was left with a rather disappointing outcome

. After reading some of the posts in a couple of the forums I've realized I need to take smaller steps such as not attempting to be too controlling in my DILDs.

I started my dream journal a couple of weeks ago and will post it shortly just so I have a place to keep it (my hand writing is atrocious).

I look forward to being a part of all you dream weavers and will contribute when I think I have something that might be of help. I'm pretty psyched about this because of my past albeit untrained experience with the art of LDing.

Sounds like you're already well on the right track with recognizing dream signs and starting a dream journal. Way to go!

Hmmm... Vertigo, right?...
... I get that extreme feeling of vertigo in all of my dreams, I never thought of that as a dream sign, that will help, but it's definitely not something that I like, it's horrible because it always consists on me falling from tall buildings and such...
