      Let me introuduce myself

      Hi all!

I’m 26 yr old guy from Russia. Graduated Moscow State University, faculty of psychology. My major was neurosciences (especially EEG). Interested in esoteric practices – taro, alchemy & scandinavic runes (since 1999); role-playing games – TRPG & LARP (since 1998); science fiction & fantasy (as far as I remember myself), anime (since 1994)… and lucid dreams certainly (science November 2007)!

For a moment I have only couple of weeks practicing lucid dreaming. It’s not hard for me to remember my dreams – each night I wrigting down 2 to 4 dreams (not lucid, just common) to my DJ. Practicing dream cartography, making catalog of my dream signs and doing 5 to 10 reality check’s everyday. I also using WTBT & MILD techniques (but they are surprisingly hard for me).
I had no LDs so far. But it’s not a problem – I know that much more time and effort may be necessary to gain my first LD. Wish me a good luck

In Russia we have our own tradition for lucid dreams. It based mostly on Carlos Castaneda teachings, and somehow one sided. So I came here to learn more about LD. As far as I can see you based more on Steven LaBerge’s theory. We know him also but he is much les popular. I wonder if Castaneda popular in other countries?

If you can help me with some advices – I’ll be grateful.
If you have a questions – don’t hesitate to ask

PS: I beg your pardon in advance if my spelling, punctuation, and grammar will be not to good. English not my native language

A big Welcome Azarus to Dreamviews..

Your credentials and qualifications impressed me and there is no appology necessary for your english communication, it was faultless.

Your attitude towards attaining lucidity is good as frustration and anxiety will inhibit attempts to have a LD. Let it come to you and if it is any consulation, it took me 49 years to have my first LD. It came naturally and I had never heard about LD's before that.

Continue with the dream journal and the reality checks, they are extremely important and the basic essential skills.

There are many methods to attaining lucidity and they work differently to different people. You will find your method eventually.

      Good luck and again, Welcome.

      Hi Azarus.

Like i wrote in my introduction here, Reality Checks is the key to LD and espesially DILD (dream induced lucid dream= understanding that you are in a dream while dreaming). You say you are doing up to ten RC a day.. I think i did 40-50 RC a day when i started.. All day long... The reason is simple.. I know how cool these dreams are, even if they only last for seconds.. Then when i found out I could trigger LD with reality checks i did them all day long.. Some times I only ask my self if I`m dreaming, I find that if I ask the same question while in a dream I soon realizing that I`m dreaming. Since I`m working in an office with twenty peoples around me I feel kind of silly looking at my palms or pulling my fingers all day long...

So my tips is. Do as many RCs as possible during a day. Try as many as possible so you find what triggers LD for you...

Thanks for the advice. I allso think that even suugestion - "It's a dream!" - may be enougth for DILD im my case. But I making 5 RC each time (hands + nose + time chek + critical observation of enviroment + recall of 1 hour past memories one by one).
I'm working at the creative advertising agency, so my collegues quite open-minded. But even in the crowd I'm not embraced to make RC-s
Will try to make them more often!
