      Unhappy My mind is crazy.

      Hey, guys.
Everyone seems to have a not all too difficult time trying to LD.
I cant, partly because my dreams dont make ANY sense whatsoever, my mind is crazy. Its really abstract and random.
Is this normal? Is there anything I can do about it? Because I want control and some degree of realism so I can do this thing.

Welcome to dreamviews...I will try to help you out here

      a) There are ALL levels of experience here. People starting out like you. People working at it, like me. People who have 'mastered it'..and people who can do it naturally. The last 2 are rarer. 'everyone' having an easy time is a wrong idea. It doesnt come naturally to the majority of us; and the point of this site is largely to teach anyone to do it. Don't be put off...your here to learn. we all start somewhere

      b) Abstract and random? Of course; you arent in control. Its very normal. I advise you to maybe read the articles on the left of the www.dreamviews.com homepage. They give the basics of this.

Read what a "Reality Check" is. Basically, its a test that tells you when you are awake or asleep. If your dreams are crazy, you will have a good chance of realising things are different to real life, and doing a "reality check"

I only explain that quickly, because its outlined on dreamviews homepage

      c) you dont need control or realism to do 'this thing'. Control is our goal. You dont need it to begin with.

Regardless of what you dream about, you can learn lucid dreaming. There are lots of techniques around the place, check the 'stickies' at the top of this forum....or "overview of induction techniques" in the tutorial page.

      Hope this helps a bit.

Damn, james read my mind and stole all the valuable info I was going to offer.

A lot of people have crazy senseless dreams. I think those are the best. I also think that journalling your dreams is a great start at sorting them out. The more you get to know the dreams, the more you get to know yourself (usually) and your dreams will start making sense, even if they seem random and nutty.

Welcome and you ain't crazy, trust me I would know

People are different, some get lucid easily, some spend a little longer with out success. You just need to keep pracitising and you will get there!

There are some useful techniques in the tutorials section!

Reality checks will also help, keep doing those throughout the day and eventually you will automatically perform one in a dream.

By the way control and lucidity are different lucid is knowing you are dreaming where as control is well control although the two usually come together.
