      Am i doing something wrong??

I've been trying to LD using the WILD method for the last 2 days, both no results.

Please tell me if im doing something wrong and if i can do it better.

first i lay down in a comfortable position, i tell myself im gunna have a lucid dream about flying tonigtht, and i dont move at all, i just sit there in my one position complety relaxed, i then do the 1 im dreaming 2 im dreaming method with my eyes closed, usually when i get to about 260 im dreaming, i cant really feel my body, its numb, and i see colors and patterns, this happen both times, the first time i got exicted and decided it wouldnt work anymore, second time i went to about 380 im dreaming and nothing was seeming to happen so i stopped, and went to sleep.

is there something im doing wrong?

and by the way, i try to wild before i go to bed, i dont sleep before or anything.

      Thanks in advance.

First off, welcome to the forum

Secondly, I can't give you any advice about WILD (though I'm sure some members will come along who can), but if you are a beginner, I would recommend starting off with techniques such as WBTB or MILD first. WILD can be very difficult and is generally recommended for people who have experience with LDing techniques. Also, you want to make sure your dream recall is great before you really start trying out techniques - because what's the point of having an LD if you're not going to remember it, right?

Check out the tutorials for more info, and the search function may come in handy as well.

      Hey, welcome to Dreamviews!

WILD's a hard technique, especially if you never LDed before. Don't get frustrated if you don't succeed right away. And I'm no WILD master, but I've always heard that you have to sleep before you try it.

Try out some other techniques like Burns said, and good luck!

Hello Thewalrus and welcome to Dreamviews

      Advise for you.

DONT try to LD until you have made a habit of doing frequent RC's and have improved your dream recall as already suggested.
Trying to LD and failing will induce anxiety, frustration and disappointment, all of which will inhibit your likelihood of successfully achieving a LD.

Entering a LD through WILD requires you to be in a REM mode of sleep which only happens when you are not really tired or sleepy like after you have had a good sleep or during an afternoon nap when you only doze. Only the very experienced can do it before normal sleep.

My advise to newbies has always been to spend at least two weeks devoted to the basics of dream recall improvement and making RC's a habit. Dont try to LD, let it come to you which it will when you do a RC during a dream. Once you have achieved that, then you can try out different techniques..

Happy to answer your questions or explain my reasoning. PM me if you like.

Best wishes and again, Welcome to Dreamworld.
