      The Formal Introduction

      Greetings fellow psychonauts!

I'm new to this forum, but I'm not completely new to lucid dreaming. I was a pretty good dreamer around Spring of this year, but I've since been out of practice. I sort of just stopped checking dream signs while I was awake, and only now am I starting again.

I actually first found out about lucid dreaming from this site around two years ago, but only now that I'm sort of having trouble getting lucid again am I joining the forum.

I've found that the reason I was able to become lucid before and not now is mainly because my old dream sign check was almost the same motion every time; I would check the cellphone that was in my left pants pocket, and see if the numbers change. Because this action was repeated every time, I was able to replicate it in dream. However, I've since realized that keeping my fat red cellphone in my pants is very uncomfortable.

Do you think I'm right in assuming that ritual helps lead to lucidity?

Oh, also, I just read Clarity's WILD method, and I plan on trying that tonight, so thank you very much for that.

Welcome to dreamviews, sorry for the late reply.

Sure ritual can work, if its worked for you before why not keep doing it, do whatever works for you. You could also try other reality checks, like the nose realty check or the finger though the hand reality check.

It seems you may of already looked though the tutorial section, but if you haven't you should go there. If you need any more help please ask.

kcynic, I'm glad you decided to join us!

I wouldn't be surprised if most members here have some sort of ritual that they use to become lucid (in fact aren't most "techniques" simply rituals).

Good luck using with my technique.. give it a try for a few nights and, if it doesn't work for you, move on to another or make your own method using a combination of techniques.

As for the forum, you might want to review the Newbie Zone Guide for helpful information about this site: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36723

You might also want to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques and other helpful stuff: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25

If you should have any questions, please ask and we'll do our best to get you answers.
