      Greetings from Bulgaria (:

Hello, my name is Stefan. I'm 17 and I live in Sofia, Bulgaria. I don't know if I have to introduce myself completely, so I'll skip a few chapters and if you want to know something just ask me
I've always been interested in dreams. I have good dream recall, I remember a lot of my dreams even when I was just a kid to this day. Usually I dream about the same stuff over and over again, was that called a dream signature? I remember experiencing lucid dreaming a few times, but after that I just woke up I might need a few advices, I'm new to this stuff, don't know exactly what everything means (WILD, DEILD...) so maybe you can recommend me some journals if it's not too much trouble. Mainly I would like to learn about the techniques and how to control yourself if you experience a LD. Last night I tried, I was focusing on one object, but couldn't fall asleep for about an hour, parts of my body started getting numb, and a lot of needles & itches everywhere. When I woke up, couldn't even remember what I dreamed. Oh well, I'll be practising from now on.
      That's all for now
If there was a single day I could live... a single breath I could take I'd trade all the others away.
The blood's on the wall, so you'd might as well just admit it.
You're better off empty and blank, than left with a single pathetic trace of this
Smother another failure, lay this to rest.
      Console yourself, you're better alone
Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck
      Absorb yourself, you're better alone
      Destroy yourself.

      Welcome Stefan,

A dream that keeps returning is a reocurring dream btw. I'd recommend you do a:

WBTB---Wake Back To Bed, where you wake up after a few hours of sleep and just try to wake your mind up a little. Usually spend half an hour to an hour reading, going on the computer, watch Tv, hey even eat.

      The try a:

MILD---Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams. Where you repeat to yourself, I will have a lucid dream, I will know I'm dreaming. Both are easy and have some good results when it comes to lucid dreaming.

The Tutorials Section offers more information as well.

      Enjoy your stay.

Thanks to all of you. Bulgaria is a very nice place, sure it has a lot of minuses, but what doesn't? We have really wonderful nature and really beautiful girls here
I have one question about the LD. Do I have to concentrate on the object I would like to dream about or just let my mind wonder? I'm going to sleep in about 10 minutes, but can't do a WBTB, because I have to get up after 5 hours.

      Hello Stefan, and welcome!

I visited Sofia in 1980, when I was 16. I'm sure it is a bit different now!

You can do either one, but I think it depends on what method you are using. When WILDing (Wake induced lucid dream), you have to concentrate, but with a DILD (dream induced lucid dream) you don't. Also dreaming about the same place a lot sounds like a dream sign, which is exactly what it sounds like. It's a common occurence that lets you know you are dreaming. I hope I helped, I might not have answered your question as well as I would have liked.

Hello again. I had another LD today. Kinda strange I keep getting 'em while I least expect, not when I try.

I was up late, watching a movie. My father woke me up after 4-5 hours, it was already morning. I found it hard to fall asleep again and I tried to remember what I dreamed through the night. Later I was dreaming again and was running through a green corridor (not sure if I was chasing someone or the other way around). Anyways, suddenly I teleported in a green classroom, with all the chairs, desk and chalkboard, but there was no one there. I realised I must be dreaming, so I did an RC. My hand was kinda blurry or even grainy, fat and the fingers seemed like they've grown together, like tentacles of a squid. I became lucid, but there was a problem. I felt paralyzed, couldn't move anywhere, like a force was pulling me back. I thought I shouldn't lose concentration, but I did and woke up. After a few seconds I felt asleep and I was in the same room (could that been a false awakening?). This time when I tried to moved my hands, I felt their real position (crossed like a sarcophag of a pharaoh), yet it was hard doing any movements at all. So I thought I should something else. I tried to summon fire and it worked!!! Well...mostly. The fire in my palm was small and kinda transparent...but I'm sure it was there. After that the dream dissapeared and I don't know how long I've slept.

My question is why do I have so little dream control? I don't get all that excited when I'm lucid, but whatever I do, the dream fades away. How can I keep the dream? How can I get to know lucidity if the dream doesn't allow me to? Or is it a subconcious/unexperienced/lack of faith thing? I'll be thankful if you give me an advice. So long for now.

And by the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!! Hope you have a lot of great experiences in the dream and real world in the new 2008 You all seem like very nice people.

i guess i should be more observant...I think 'stefan' could have a chance of staying 'stefan' in america. people just butcher pronunciation a lot for 'yelizaveta'. but when everyone is typing, i like Yelizaveta better
      Stefan is a cool name.
