      just wondering:

      - if one WILDS / FILDS, do they still need to keep a dream journal or do RCs?

Keeping a dream journal helps with recall and i fun to look over so yeah it definitely still helps. Doing RCs allows you to still have DILDs and also to regain lucidity if you lose it after a WILD. I would say doing things like those will also keep you thinking about dreaming and that will help in your quest for more lds

hmm so it is possible to WILD/FILD without RCs and journal. i understand the benefits of RCs and the dream journal, i just feel that i can pull off a WILD if i did it after WBTB easier than waiting for a DILD. i almost got it once then stopped for a while cuz of exams and holidays (lots goin on then) and now im sick so i cant be comfortable enough to WILD
but wen i get better i shud see som progress.
      thnx for the incite!

You don't necessarily need a dream journal to get lucid, but it helps so much in so many areas of dreaming that it really isn't a bad idea to have one... and unless your conditions really aren't ideal for keeping one (for instance, too busy to ever get a good night's sleep) why not put some effort into keeping one?

Really commiting to keeping a dream journal has personally been the greatest choice I've made as far as normal or lucid dreams go. But of course I can't speak for all

Doesn't hurt to try for both at the same time though.

I just had my 15th lucid dream last night, all have been DILDs, I barely do any reality checks and I only keep a journal for lds and the occasional awesome nonlucid dream. I'm sure if you start trying to WILD that will be enough to also give you some DILDs. Also some people get really stressed out about trying to ld, i feel its something that you focus on when you want to and when you arent interested for a little while that doesn't matter. Good luck with it and that giant smiley avatar is cool.
