      Great awareness

I've been browsing these forums for some time, but until now had yet to experience a highly lucid dream. Here it is, and how it happened:

After a heavy night of drinking, I went to sleep at around 4:30am and then awoke at 10ish. I briefly opened my eyes before turning to the side and trying to sleep again. It was strange, however, as I must have woke up during the REM cycle. This was apparent, due to my eyes flickering and the difficulty that I had keeping my eyes shut.

Hypnologic images began to appear, shooting past my inner vision with a strange sound accompanying them. After about 20-30 seconds there was a sudden 'whoosh' and instanteously I could see, whilst it felt like I landed onto my bed.

The most salient thing that I noticed was that my senses seemed very well tuned - it felt just like reality. There was not merely a sense of touch; I could actually differentiate between materials to a great degree. I could smell the room too, it smelt damp.

I got up off the bed and walked over to the mirror in my room. As I looked at my reflection it began fading from the bottom up, with a strange purple light trailing beneath the fading. It was instinctive for me to feel wary at this, and that thought/feeling alone brought my reflection back.

After seeing this, I recognised that my feeling caused something to change. So I experimented. I thought of an attractive girl that I know (no naming ;p) and she appeared, naked, falling on to me. Her body felt too real. Too excited at my powers, I totally neglected the girl and pushed her onto the floor.. Bad idea. As I did, some evil entered my mind and she turned into a witch. I looked at the walls and they came closer with spikes manifesting on them. I panicked. Everything began to fade to black, so I shook my head intensely. I woke up.

I was on the stairs in my university, not in my room. A girl passed me and asked if I was ok. I said nothing. I followed her downstairs, on the way I thought 'hmm what's the time?' I looked at my watch: 15:05, I looked again and the seconds hand was spinning erratically around the watch face.

Immediately after realising that I was still dreaming, I ran back up into my room. As I passed the mirror, I saw myself nodding at me. It intrigued me, so I put my hand through the mirror and pulled my reflection into my room. At that time I felt that this dream wouldn't last for much longer, and that I needed to make the most of it.

Strangely, I started to morph my reflection, feature by feature, into the most attractive female I could imagine. Shortly after doing so..well...I grabbed my new female, slammed her on the bed and gave her something to remember LoL.

In essence, I fucked a mutated female, originating from my reflection. How strange my mind works sometimes.

I woke up to reality during the 'session' due to a uni neighbour blasting out his music.

This form of dreaming needs to happen again, the clarity and sense of reality was phenomenal.

The problem is that this form of dreaming has not happened since. On the night I was drinking red wine, and I've heard that the melatonin in it can increase REM intensity. So who knows. O_O
