with this attitude you won't have one.
First, start a Dream Journal if you haven't. Then you can look in it for dreamsigns, things in common between your dreams. Then you must do reality checks! is that what you meant by 'stupid stuff in real life'? Is holding your nose for a second and breathing in or glancing down at your hands really that stupid?
If you really are so set againts RC's, you can try to WILD but don't be frustrated. WILDing methods are difficult to master.

What have you tried so far? And how long have you been trying? For some people it takes longer to learn. Read the tutorials and other people's experiences on this board.

To be honest, I have never done that much with reality checks (like holding my nose, etc)--but I make sure that I often question whether I'm awake or dreaming. Usually questioning it is enough for me to realize I'm in a dream or not. If I'm still not sure, then I'll do a RC.

      Good luck..and stay positive....

ok, calm down and hit caps lock again, or lift up your finger from shift.

You may want to check out our forums tutorials, those could help you. You may be trying to hard, if you try to hard you can get stressed, and stress kills lucid dreaming. If you have lucid dreams when you don't try, why do you try?

there are a few ways to wake up from a dream. When I was younger in a dream (didn't know about lucid dreaming yet) to wake up I would close my eyes real hard and open them again. If you stare at something for a wile you may also wake up. But you may want to worry more about staying in a lucid dream.

      Good luck

when i typed in capital letters doesn't really mean i'm angry and shouting.
I'm just trying to HIGHLIGHT the things i want to know.
And what i mean by stupid things is that i read a tutorial that i should jump off a tall building and fly, but what happens if i do that in real life?!

      Thanks for your replies anywho

You jump off the building after you make sure you are dreaming by doing a reality check. The most reliable one to hold your nose and breath in. If air goes through your nose you are dreaming. Also try to get onto the building by flying, if you do you know your dreaming

And to answer your question about what happens if you do that in real life, you will probably get hurt really bad and people will think your stupid.

I'm pretty sure there is no tutorial that tells you to jump off a building...

Reality checks are simple actions you can complete throughout the waking day to check whether you're dreaming or not. Trying to poke your finger through your palm, holding your nose and breathing through it, checking and rechecking your watch, etc.

Most are quite simple and discrete too, not to mention entirely safe.

If you want the most comprehensive and easy to understand (and fun to read) guide to lucid dreaming, I'd suggest picking up "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge.

In Amethst Star's tutorial it tells you to jump off.

and go to the jump off a building section.

LOL SugarGlider11's right, you would get hurt and people would think your stupid.

this is a flying tutorial. Once you are positive for other reasons that you are dreaming, you can try to achieve flying. This has nothing to do with actually becoming lucid.

I even has a disclaimer, don't try this in real life, you will either hurt yourself or look stupid. The two things I told you
