      Hey look a new guy

I have just discovered lucid dreams, I had kept a dream journal for quite some time but only realized i could control and know i'm awake in dreams recently. So i hope to get to know you guys and have alot of lucid dreams. I only have one question so far, is the WILD method essentially the same as the Zen meditation where you concentrate on your breathes and if anything distracts you concentrate that much harder on the breathes and visualizing the numbers or words whatever you using? btw my first lucid was a accidental DILD

From what you said about the Zen meditation, WILD is somewhat along the lines of that in my opinion. Concentrating on your breathing to distract you from when your body is falling asleep is one technique to enter the dream consciously and calm. Though, I'm not that familiar with the Zen meditation.

Though, Welcome to the board. If you have any more questions feel free to ask

Welcome to the forum! I can't give any useful advice about your question on WILD (WILD just isn't my thing...), but I'm sure others will have some tips for you.

      Congrats on the DILD!

See you around the forum. Good luck and have fun!

      Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the first DILD! Also it's good that you have a dream journal! That's always a start! Helps with your recall and recognise dream signs.

I'm not really sure about the Zen method, can't say I know much about it sorry

Incase you need additional information please feel free to take a glance at the Tutorials Section!

      Hope this helps!

I use meditation to get into WILDs, but it's not the same.

Well thanks to all the responses, I took a quick look through the tutorial area
and one of the WILD methods does involve a part of Zen meditation the only difference i saw were the positioning (That was kinda a given but thought i would mention it) and the dealing with the random thoughts your mind come across. In Zen you kinda just let them pass by in the WILD method you concentrate harder on the numbers I'll try a WILD tonight, SP never seemed that scary to me.

Btw sorry about my walls of text i try to use good grammer but i just plain suck at english.

      Welcome, deepfriedsalad...

You have come to the right place to get motivated and have good support.

Sounds like you have a great start with having already started a dream journal and having a DILD.

Good luck with your WILDing tonight.
