      draem journal suggestion

Hey people.. I'm new to lucid dreams, although I've had a few in the past (jumping from building to building, flying, etc). I'm trying to start my own dream journal but I find it hard. I want to put an alarm to wake me up at like 4am or whatever, but my brother sleeps under me (bunk bed, I live in an appartment). I suppose I can sleep in the living room but my brother, being a shallow sleeper, would probably hear it.

Do you guys have any suggestions of better ways I can remember my dreams?

      thanks

Ahh, the problems with shared rooms. Well, sometimes when you simply tell yourself that you will wake up at a set time, you end up doing it. It's how the subconscious works.

Anyway, if that doesnt work for you - check out this tutorial all about Dream Recall. - http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=6207

      Screw your brother

If you don't move around a lot you can put your phone in your pocket and set it to vibrate on the alarm. I would recommend however, drinking a lot of water before bed and waking up naturally.

I've found that putting a cell phone under the pillow works nicely. It sounds really loud since your head is on top of it, but your brother shouldn't hear it.

Im not sure where you got the idea that you HAVE to wake at some ungodly hour to recall dreams.

If you wake naturally by chance during the night, you may want to.

If you are waking up to attempt to get lucid, you may want to.

But on the majority of nights, I have no problem with dream journallin when its time to get up. My recall will be low, and after a few nights of journalling the fragments will be bigger and easier to remember.

Moral of the story: you dont have to wake during the night to benefit from dream journalling

What is the reason for getting up at 4am? You don't say in your post. Is it to help with recal or lucidity?

Okay ignore that I have just reread your post lol.

Try when waking up in the mornings not to move, open your eyes, or do anything which might take your mind off your dreams and onto your daily tasks! When we wake up, we instantly open our eyes and start rushing about thinking about what we have to do today, like school, work etc. This can often be a cause for people forgetting their dreams. So try to take just a few minutes to stay in bed, keeping your eyes closed and just replaying your dreams, over and over - this should keep them fresh in your mind and help you remember them to write in your journal

Oh and welcome to the forum,
