      im new

im completely new to lucid dreaming and i think it is neat. i was wondering if i am headed in the right direction.

      night schedule
      go to bed at 9:00
      set alarm for 2:00
      wake up record dream
than i try to WILD and i think im doing it right, i tried the breathing technique but i also think i might need to just work on my dream recall first.

      GOod job !

Hey there, welcome to the site !
I am pretty new here too, and believe me; it's a great site
I wish I could go to sleep at 9, way too early for me and most of the time have homework .

I think that what you are doing is a very good start, especially if you keep a dream journal.
It doesn't hurt to start of with trying to WILD, although it comes in handy to have a good dream recall going on .
I tell myself before I go to bed that when my dream has ended I have to wake up, remember the dream, and write it down. This works very decent; it's like setting an alarm clock, your mind "sets" itself to it, and you wake up a few minutes before the clock actually goes off.

Be sure to do a lot of reality checks during the day, like check your watch every hour, then don't look for a few seconds and then look again. (During the day of course this doesn't change), and then tell yourself you are not dreaming.
There are a few tutorials on how to do reality checks, and also a lot about the different LD'ing techniques.
This behaviour makes you remember this action in your dream, and lets you reality check in your dream. Then you find you are dreaming, and perhaps get lucid !

Ok well, that's about it There's a lot of people here who know a LOT, so just ask and see

      to the forum matt!

That's quite a nice little plan you got there, can't see anything wrong with it to be honest, you should have about enough time sleeping as well. You could try repeating "I will wake up after my dream," instead of an alarm clock.

Here's the Tutorials Section. There's quite a few WILD techniques in there.

      Good luck!

kingmatt8, I'm glad you decided to join us and your schedule sounds like a good one! (I admire you for going to bed at 9pm.. I can only go to bed that early when I'm not feeling well!)

You might want to start a dream journal to help build your recall. Information about the forum's online dream journal can be found in the Newbie Zone Guide: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36723

If you should have any additional questions, please ask and we'll do our best to get you answers.

last nite, i tried to WILD and it was kinda weird, after i wok up at 2:30 i stayed awake for about half an hour and then when i went back to sleep i felt like i was dreaming but i could still feel myself awake. is this normal.

i also wanted to know if i should get up and record my dreams every time i finish a dream and wake up. cuz last nite i found myself waking up like three times and i didnt record any of them until my alarm went off, and by them i only remembered fragments.

again all help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, you should record your dreams as soon as you wake from them. Then go back to sleep and have more. At least while your trying to improve recall. It can be hard to make yourself get up and do it but its worth it, just force yourself. I've forgotten many a dream completely because I was too tired to write it down and then in the morning I remembered remembering a dream, but can't remember the dream itself. That really sucks.
