Knew I was dreaming, but no lucidity.

      Hello

I've been keeping a dream journal (which has helped my dream recall improve greatly) for almost a month now and doing reality checks plenty of times a day.

Last night i had a dream i was in an old church i used to go to. For some reason (i think back and have no clue why) i knew i was dreaming and first thing i started to do was ask DC's questions ( I cant remember what they were). That is all i can remember of the dream, but I'm extremely confused of why i didn't go lucid or why i didn't think about doing a reality check, it just felt like it was just a normal dream when i think of it and I'm afraid it will happen again. This dream has frustrated me quiet a bit, but i will never stop trying... Can anyone else relate to this? If so please tell how you overcame it. TY

      You were lucid congrats!

As long as you know you were dreaming, you were lucid. Sure you may have had little to no control and might have had little realism but it was still lucid.

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss it you will land among the stars.

I wouldn't be too frustrated about this dream. It sounds like you were lucid. Why don't you think you were lucid?

Maybe the lucidity didn't last long enough for you to do anything special, but it is a good start.

When I go to bed I try to have lucid goal for when I become lucid. So when I realize I'm dreaming that goal is there in my mind and start doing it. I find that is a great way to focus on what you want to do.

Dream control gets better with practice. Give it time and it will come.

i didn't think i was lucid because i felt like i had no control whatsoever. But like Neavo said, if i knew i was dreaming, i must have been lucid dreaming...yay!
I will come up with a simple goal for when i go lucid, and hopefully soon enough i will become lucid enough to complete it

Yup, lucidity and dream control are two completely seperate things.

Yep, I'm sure you'll have a chance soon. Sounds like you are doing a good job with keeping a dream journal and reality checks.

You never get control the first couple of times, like anything it takes practice.
