I have the same question. My most recent lucid dream was when one of my friend's was sleeping over. We stayed up really late until we were just too tired. Normally, I do not have lucid dreams, but that night I had one without any trouble.

Sorry that I can't really help, Exhalent.

Depens on the technique you're using to induce a lucid dream. If you're using WILD a WBTB would be better than staying up late.

Most times it just helps me go to sleep when I go to bed later. Like on Fridays; I don't care if I sleep till 10 on Saturday because it is the weekend. I don't usually Lucid when I stay up late it all depends on the person.

I'm not sure if this helps... but I didnt get any sleep the night before last (all nighter to do an essay) and when I went to sleep last night, I had next to no recall. Not sure how that works out, but it did

every time i stay up late, i end up screwing my WILD chances the next morning as i am pretty foggy at that point (after only about 3 hours sleep!) and can never manage to stay aware for the passage into REM consciously. most techs rely on a consistent sleep schedule, i thought. then you can tweak them to your needs accordingly.
Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge, experience and even your inquiries regarding LDs!!!

no it wouldnt, you cant be filled with fatuge win trying to be lucid, you also need about 7-8 hours of sleep per day, not sleeping may help you be lucid, but you wont have much controll and it will be hard to remain lucid

I disagree, go to bed early for WILDS. You need to have enough deep sleep so that when you wake up and go back to bed, you fall into REM and not back into deep sleep. (You don't dream in deep sleep)

You can get by with as much or as little sleep as you need, the important thing is that it's fairly consistent.
