      Is it possible to....

...see a deceased loved one while lucid dreaming?

I had to put my dog Rebel down yesterday. I have had him since I was 5 years old (I'm now 18), and he was my absolute best friend. I can't get over the fact that he isn't going to be around, so I was wondering if it is possible to see my dog again through lucid dreaming. I don't really care about any other aspect of lucid dreaming, I don't want to have a 3-some, fly with pink giraffes or be Jame Bond, I would just like to see my dog again...

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

I'm so sorry about your dog - I can't imagine how hard it would be to lose a pet that you knew for so long. But you can see him again, in a manner of speaking. Anything you can imagine is possible in a lucid dream, including visiting deceased pets. Since you had him for 13 years, your mind should be able to create a very accurate represenation, as I'm sure you knew him very well over that period of time.

Should you have any other questions, feel free to contact me or any of the other dream guides.

      Hi Chief

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet can be just as difficult (or more) as losing a human family member. They are such loyal friends and are always there for us, no matter what. I'm sure the loss is devastating for you.

Wavefunction is right, you can dream about your dog and through lucid dreaming get to spend time with him again. Nothing can bring him back, but he will live on in your memories and dreams. I wish peace for both of you.

Welcome to the forum and good luck

CHIEF-CHEESE, I too had to put a beloved dog down.. and I was able to see her in a lucid dream: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=13905.

As has already been said.. anything you truly believe to be possible is possible in a lucid dream.

As for the forum, you might want to review the Newbie Zone Guide for helpful information about this site: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36723

You may also want to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques and other helpful information: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25.

If you should have any questions, please ask and we'll do our best to get you answers.

Thanks for the encourage remarks everyone. I fully intend to realize this dream as often as I can once I get to that stage. I tried dreaming about him last night but I ended up meeting metallica, getting my guitar stolen, and seeing big breasted woman... (nothing wrong with that, but it wasn't what I was hoping for) What a crap first entry in my dream journal.
