From what I understand it's as effective simply because it can take over an hour o get to REM state and REM is much shorter. Waking after hours of sleep and soon going back to sleep increases how quickly REM happens and its length.
So a napping WIlD would be the same just harder and shorter.

In my experience, nap WILDing is easy.
Just make sure you're tired and ready for a nap. Laying down out of the blue when you're not tired and trying to force a nap usually won't help any with the WILD process.

The key to Nap WILDing is be sure that you really need the sleep. The more tired you are the faster your body will fall asleep.

But if you've had enough sleep at night, surely you won't need the nap?

Tire yourself out during the day. Physical activity sometimes is enough to warrent a nap at some point.

Or maybe that just works for old fogies like me.
