The DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) technique is probably your best bet. It works really well if you go to bed tired (as I would imagine you would if you go to bed at midinight )
If you need help becoming lucid, try checking the sticky on the top of this section, the Tutorials section on the forum, and the Attaining Lucidity section. That should help you tons.
And when you do start remembering your dreams, keep a dream journal in the Dream Journal section. That really helps with recall, and with better recall comes more of a chance at lucid dreaming.
