Would like help, trying to Wild

Alright I've been trying for a good 2 weeks now.
I've used a dream journal off and on with no luck when I used it.

Well actually I've just started to try WILDs 2 weeks ago and lucid dreams as a whole about 6 months ago.

Basically WILDs seem to be getting me the closest.
Although I still seem far off.

I'll lie on my bed for about 2 hours, I feel a sensation that feels like sleep paralysis but I don't feel any closer to sleep.
I eventually give up and go to bed. I've tried counting and imagining things but it doesn't get me any closer.

Occasionally I'll feel as if the world has shrunk or I have grown that feeling I'm assuming is me falling asleep but it fades after a while and there I am on the bed not dreaming I perform the reality checks and go to the bathroom.

Yesterday I read that thread saying imagine yourself falling through the bed and focus on that feeling.

My eyes started bugging out which is what I'm assuming to be rem. The whole world felt weird again I went numb like usual but it went away.

I feel as if I'm so close but don't know how to enter the dream when I feel these sensations.

Would anyone care to give me some tips?

Sorry I'm certain this has been posted before but and I admit I didn't look at all for a similar thread.

      Welcome to the forum!

Are you doing a wake back to bed (sleeping for 5-6 hours) before WILDing?

If you're not doing that, then you should. If you're trying to do a WILD as the first thing you do when you go to bed at night, then it's not going to work. It takes around 90 minutes until you reach the first REM cycle. These sensations can happen even when you're not in a REM cycle. But when they do happen and you're about to have a successful WILD, just go with it and don't focus on all the strange feelings, just focus on keeping your consciousness as you enter the dream state.

Good luck with your WILDs, and welcome to DV!

Trying a WILD after 7 hours of sleep is a good idea too, assumed that you're still able to fall back asleep.

I don't get a lot of sleep either.

You might want to limit your WILDing to the weekends, when you have enough sleep to WILD with.
