      I think I was?

Hi, I am new to this site.. i came here about a month ago and read about it.. it seemed interesting but i wasn't too dedicated , i didn't have time.. i read some of the tutorials and stuff.. but finally last night i think i had a Lucid dream...
i was in a bedroom (not mine) just waking up with some girl next to me i had just made out with.. something just didn't feel right, i don't know what... then i looked at the clock.. my eyes were way out of focus.. i tried looking again.. it said 10:37.. then i looked again.. it still said 10:37.. i knew something wasn't right... but it felt so real.. so i imagined the clock said 9 something.. i said aloud.. it is 9 something.. looked at the clock and it had changed.. then i knew i was in a dream... i didnt feel too in control i almost lost it for a second because i got excited, it was so weird knowing i was in a dream.. it felt too much like reality.. .. but i tried focusing on an object and the landscape around me and started talking aloud to people.. then i was in control.. somewhat.. i tried imagining someone and they appeared.. it was so weird.. then i didn't like where i was anymore and spun in a circle and i was in a new place completely... i did this a few times at later times in my dream.. and felt dizzy the last time i did it.. haha... i think i may have changed landscapes too many times.. like 5.. is that too many? anyways.. i am wondering what triggered me to know i was dreaming? the clock thing helped but it was the reason.. i had a huntch.. does that just happen sometimes? Is it possible to have a dream where you think you are Lucid.. like that is your dream.. thinking you're Lucid dreaming? It was just the strangest thing.. cool though.. i felt good when i woke up and was like.. wow.....

That's an interesting thought, but I'm pretty sure you had a real lucid dream. Congratulations ! And welcome to dreamviews

      Hey,
Welcome to Dreamviews. Definitely sounds like you had a LD there. For me one of the biggest clues that I am dreaming is just what you mentioned..the hunch or feeling of something not quite being right. I can imagine being dizzy after spinning five times. I usually get dizzy after one. Lots of time spinning doesn't work for me as I find myself forgetting why I am spinning and ended up back in the dream as a veiwer.
      Anyways once again, welcome.
Oh and BTW making time for LDing is WELL worth the effort.

You could, but it doesn't sound like yours was. You would know if you had a dream where you dreamed you were lucid.

Switching settings 5 times is too much if it's one of your first LDs. To sustain the dream you need to focus on something and stay in one place. Only when you're sure you are not going to wake up should you change settings or do anything drastic like flying. Can't tell you how many times I forget to stablize only to wake up when I try to fly.

I kept spinning into different places because i didn't like where i was... or because something got weird.. I would see something i didn't like and so i was like.. peace... *spin* spin* .. like some star trek shit or something.. can you order stuff to go away? If you don't like something that is.. i noticed that voice commands worked well when i was Lucid...
also i can remember my dreams.. but only little bits and pieces.. so when i write about it.. it's very choppy... does this just get better with practice and time?
