The feeling of being in an LD

Hello everybody. I´m new to this forum and to the concept of LD (I´m also brazilian so if I make lots of grammar mistakes, forgive me). I have started trying to do dream recall (I was always very bad at remembering dreams, so it might take a while). Now, a doubt that i have is: how does it feel in an LD? Does it feel the same as walking around awake? Do you feel gravity (your weight)? Is it the same as being awake but having "awesome powers" or is it a different way of simply feeling? Thanks in advance for all the help and if anyone could give me tips on getting better at dream recall i´d appreciate it as well.

Umm, the LD is sorta however you want it to be. When you first begin most elements present are what we normally perceive in reality ie gravity. But if you chose to and have correct control you can turn stuff like that off. Like turning lights on and off, a common technique is to yell, "Lights On" and it does it.

When I was in my LD it felt quite real to the point I wasn't sure if I was awake or not (I was in my room) and had to do a reality check on my watch.

      Hope that helps.
      Cheers

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

Lucid dreams do have their own feel. But to describe it is hard.
Most feel real with a hint of something else. I think the only way I can describe it is enlightening. Sorry if that doesn't help any but it's the only thing i can think of at the moment. I will give this further thought. If I can remember in a future Lucid Dream, I will try, in dream, to describe what I am experiencing and bring that description back with me to the waking world.

About dream recall, it would do you much good to start a dream journal at home or even here in the dream journals section. Make journaling a part of yoru morning routine and in no time it'll be second nature to wake up, roll over and jot down your dreams.

Hmm, well to me when I am Lucid it feels the same as when I am awake in normal everyday life, I feel just as concious as I would be normally. The environment feels and looks very real indeed inside the LDs. When I pass into an LD I often have a shiver of energy that coarses through my body.
I usually do a hand RC when in the LDs to check I am lucid, and that can lead to missing fingers, distorted ways in which the hand looks.

Increasing recall - dream journal and keeping it going consistently can raise recall - when waking thinking immediately what was I just dreaming about rather than other things, don't get out of bed straight away. Noting the dreams down whenever you wake up even if it is very early morning - so you don't forget them if you go back to sleep.

Thanks everybody for the answers. I have been doing a dream journal for about three days. In the first, I remembered one dream with a bit of details. The second night I remembered two dreams. One was almost nothing, but the other was very vivid in my mind. The third night, I got kind of sad because I didn´t remember any.
Now, the second night, the dream that I remembered a lot was soon after I went to sleep (I woke up after two hours of sleep and remembered this dream). It was a very strange dream, and I found myself having problems writing it down, because there was too much information and details. Do you guys have any tips on what I should focus on, so I don´t have to spend hours writing down every single dream? Thanks again.

Don't be sad when you don't get a recall on any particular day. Even if you have been doing recalls well for years you are still going to have days when you just can't get that pesky dream to come back to you! Sometimes they don't come back to you as soon as you wake up - they can filter in later, like mine do sometimes. If you get used to not having recalls on some days then it won't bother you in the future when it most surely will happen again.

Hmm, well I always write out all my dreams in full and I don't abbreviate anything. It might take a bit longer but its nice to have a full record of the dream - better for if someone goes through your journal and picks out your dream signs. If you miss stuff out you might miss out important information.

I guess you could if the dream is very long loose some of the specific details so if you go into a particular room you could say that but then don't describe the floor type or the wall colour etc. I like to type out all the details of my dreams though and I have quite a memory for detail

It's early days I am sure you will develop excellent recall - just keep at it on a consistent basis by writing down whatever you can each day.

Hi marcio and welcome to Dreamviews How good it is to see a brazilian come by.

Dreams tend to be really vivid and full of details, but tend to be different from reality in other aspects. It's like you really were in a different world, a dream world. It's a fantastic sensation, and kind of hard to describe.

Each Lucid Dream, just like any regular dream, is different, unique. If you are to walk dow na road believing you will fall down, you will fall down. If you jump for flight and believe you won't make it, you won't make it. That's normally not a difficulty: little by little you'll learn to manipulate your lucid dream your own way.

      Any doubt, msg me
