      Lucid before or after RC?

      When you're in a dream, and you become lucid, is it before or after doing a RC?
      Is it like:
      You're dreaming, and suddenly you realize you're dreaming. So you are lucid.Then you do a reality check as a double check. Yep, you're dreaming and fully aware.

      Or:
      You're dreaming, and you remember to do a RC. Turns out you are dreaming and are NOW lucid.

      Don't you have to be lucid first to remember to do a RC?
      Kind of stupid question, but was wondering. How else would you remember to do a RC? Even though I do RCs as a habit in RL, it never spills over into my dreams to remember.

      A reality check can be done before or after you become lucid. It is a way of telling you're dreaming. As for my personal self, I mostly end up doing my reality checks after I started to suspect I was dreaming. Indeed I was right, but sometimes it didn't work so I failed to become lucid.

      Reality checks and such aspects of lucid dreaming is different for everyone, some may have them 70% of the time, whilst others may never remember.

      So yeah, a reality check can be before and after a lucid dream, but when it's done after you become lucid, it's usually to double check or to increase lucidity.

      It can happen either way. I think I'm about 50/50.
      Sometimes I wonder if I'm dreaming and RC.
      Other times I just know I'm dreaming and RC just to be 100% sure.
      I also RC occasionally through out a lucid dream just to remember that I am dreaming.

      With me, I usually Reality Check after I think I'm dreaming. In my dreams alot of the time, I just suddenly know i'm dreaming and go from there. Occasionally though, I'll just do random reality checks in my dream, with no suspicions at all, and then be like "woah wait.. that one went through, lemme try that again..", and then do it again and realize it was a dream.

      Knowing me, because I don't lucid dream alot, I seem to RC when I get skeptical.
