hey very new at this and need help!!!!

Ok so I have been trying to LD for about a month now and have had no results

Ive been watching reecejones87's videos on youtube so i have been keeping a dream journal and a few other things like reality checks and those little "chants" before you go to sleep.

The one thing that i have noticed is when i tell myself to remember my dreams before i go to bed i wake up in the middle of the night and sometimes it is 3 or 4 times a night which i wasn't doing before

The only real thing that has happened is one time i noticed that something was out of place in the dream but i got distracted and i lost whatever lucidity i had if i had any.

i guess im just at that point where i feel like ill never be able to LD

so does anyone know anything that might help me

      Welcome to DV.
      it just takes time.
try tutorials and read more about dreaming.
you have good recall so you dont really need to concentrate on that
and since you already have a dream journal i dont really know what to suggest.
just keep trying and keep a steady sleep schedule.

Don't give up. It really does take time, like eppy said (unless you are one of those "naturals", who I am completely jealous of--a good kind of jealousy, if there's such a thing).

Definitely check out the tutorials. They are a great help.

Yeah, Reece Jones's videos are interesting. Although I heard someone say he was murdered, is it the same guy?

But yeah, Crueldeer, stay at it. It takes practice does the W.I.L.D.

      Here's some fun tips:

Try using your wake-ups to your advantage, and try a WBTB. To do this, wake up, just sit there, while very tired for a while, and go back to bed. You should start dreaming within minutes, and it should be very vivid. This really increases your chances of having an LD.

Hope this helps. If not, don't hesitate to PM me or someone with green stars.

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

I'm jumping on the wagon with the others and going to suggest you read over the tutorials here. Watching videos about lucid dreaming is okay but I find reading and digesting what's read is more profound when it comes to dreaming... or just about anything. Might be just me though who's wired that way.

You might want to check out the Lucid Dreaming Quick Start Guide, found HERE. It's got all the good beginning lucid dreaming stuff packed into one package.

      Good luck and keep practicing.
LDing takes a little work even for the best of Lucid Dreamers at times.

Ahh yes, that's something I forgot to mention!

      • Always read tutorials, the more you read, the better!

Thanks for the reminder Vex Kitten for posting that! (This is why reading other's posts is a good idea)

yeah just keep reading tutorials and dont give up. Experience is the best way to learn, and after you have one lucid dream it's easier to have another. Even if your first lasted only a few seconds. You'll know how it feels. It just takes practice. good luck!

A lot of us have done that too, dreamed we were trying to lucid dream.
Just remember, even if you lucid dream within a dream, the in dream lucid dream is still considered a lucid dream.

Does that last bit make sense?

Also, dreams are more likely to be lucid when they're within a dream.

Okay, that took a bit to soak in. I guess I'm just getting old, and things take a while to sink in for me. But, it makes sense.

Remember persistence is a key factor. Just keep at it and it will happen. It sounds like your already close. It's normal to get a close call or two before getting a full blown Lucid. At least for me anyway.
