      This sounds sweet

Alright, first post, hi all you can can me ryan or whatever. I found this sight on accident and think it is proby the coolest thing i have scene in a while. The whole do anything aspect of lucid dreaming. I read some tutorials but just have a few questions about how to get this going...

1- where do i start? just writing down my dreams?
2- i am a terrible sleeper (i lay awake for hours before falling asleep somtimes) will this affect my ld's

3- what exactly is a lucid dream... i have had some prety cool dreams and some really f'd up ones, one example was i was decapitated and i was a living head and had to watch as my body was tourtured- that was really really f'd up- on the other side i discovered i could fly and zoomed all around doing cool things. So is it just a state where you know that you are dreaming and can do whatever you want?

4- how good can you get? can you get to a point where everytime you go to bed its like your in some adventure story with infint possibilities?

5- dream sings... do you check these at all times of the day? of just when somthing wierd happens? i don't think i can tell that im dreaming when i am so does checking dream sings just become a part of what you do everyday?

      thanks in advance

to the forum, Ryan! Believe me, Lucid dreaming is awesome.

      1. Yes, keeping a dream journal is a great idea. It really helps recall, which, in turn, helps you lucid dream. Also try using some of the tutorials.

      2. It might lessen the chances. You have more chance in getting an LD if you go to bed tired and fall asleep quickly.

      3. A lucid dream is a dream in which you are aware you are dreaming. You can do a bunch of cool stuff there if you have dream control. (which you should visit the respective forum for more info) It's quite awesome.

      4. Some people can get that good, yes. But most people just LD occasionally.

      5. A bit vague, but yes, you should check whenever.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or a dream guide for help.

Yes, that is a great idea. Look for recurring themes and objects, which will help you get lucid.

do a search for a thread called "99 breaths to relief a wandering mind" it will help you get to sleep much faster.

Any where you just know that you're dreaming. Control doesn't mean lucidity, that's just a side effect of lucid dreaming.

4- how good can you get? can you get to a point where everytime you go to bed its like your in some adventure story with infint possibilities?
Some people naturally lucid dream, but for most of us it's unlikely that it'll happen every night.

you're thinking of reality checks, that's where you check whether or not you're dreaming. Dream signs are recurring themes or objects in your dreams that you should do reality checks every time that you see yourself around one.

Hope that helped, the home page has some great tutorials on dream signs and reality checks. Also check out the tutorial section, specifically the one on DILDs.
