      Hey I'm new :D

      Hey everybody,

This lucid dreaming thing sounds really cool. I just have a few questions:

      1) When people talk about choking on saliva, what do they mean? Can it be dangerous?

      2) I'm still young (16), and was wondering if it is okay to lucid dream at any point of your life? Is it not dangerous to lucid dream when you are 8 years old, etc etc?

      3) I'm not so completely sure, but apparently, when you lucid dream, you don't get your "sleep", am I correct?? In that case, this would be something to do on the weekends I suppose?

Edit: 4) Has anyone ever tried to fly in their lucid dream? If you have, what does it feel like? I've had a few dreams in which I felt like I was flying, and it felt so real and amazing. Was this a lucid dream?

Thanks so much guys Look forward to talking with you all!

Welcome!!! I don't know the answer to your first question, sorry... Lucid dreaming is safe for any age... Starting younger might cause you to have better lucid dreaming skills... Lucid dreaming doesn't affect your sleeping... There are many techniques under the WBTB technique... This is when you wake up after 4-6 hours and stay up for a certain amount of time before you go back to sleep... That is where you would be losing your sleep and why you may want to WBTB on the weekends...

      Hiya Penguin!

Right, firstly, let me start off by saying that I don't think it's possible to choke on Saliva, and even if it is, I doubt it's even likely to happen unless you're doing something weird, like WILD. Secondly, it's pretty silly to think it would be, people can have Lucid Dreams at any time without it being dangerous really, it dpends on the mind of the person and what they do, not their age.

And finally, that would also be stupid, of course you get your sleep, by definition, all Lucid Dreaming is is just a controlled normal dream, nothing else. Just a normal dream, were you know it's a dream. But yes, if you have a busy week, I recommend doing it on weekends, as you can relax on weekends. Relaxation is key, remember that. If you're stressed, you wont succeed.

Welcome to the community, it's good to have you here. Have an awesome time here, and I hope I've helped in advice.

Thank you so much, both of you two!

Question: What's up with all these abbrevations like WBTB and WILD? Is there a topic for this?

Yeah, they're methods for Lucid Dreaming. I call WILD weird because I hate it so much, but that's just me. You might like it to be honest. WBTB is the method used before doing WILD.

      Thanks, that was really helpful.
      Repeating my fourth question:
"4) Has anyone ever tried to fly in their lucid dream? If you have, what does it feel like? I've had a few dreams in which I felt like I was flying, and it felt so real and amazing. Was this a lucid dream?"

When I fly, it feels great... I don't always feel wind but when there's a breeze, flying feels even better... A lucid dream is when you're consciously aware that you're dreaming... Everything beyond that is dream control...

No one has ever thanked me before... Thank you... You should definitely go over the abbreviations so that you're not lost... There are so many abbreviations on these forums...

You've been signed up since June of last year, and you still don't have DILDs down atleast?
