      scarey and confusing night

okay well basically i live in my shed which has been turned into a pretty crummy room. i have a stereo and tv and double bed and stuff in there if that helps you get a picture. time was about midnight, i just had a cigarette and some softdrink before going to bed

as i was trying to get to sleep i kept hoping i would have a lucid dream. so i kind of lay there telling myself repetitively to figure out it was a dream once i had fallen asleep. i was focusing really hard, like i have never focused before. suddenly it was feeling as though my eyes kept looking higher and higher until it felt like they were looking back at my brain. after awhile in my [peripheral?]vision with my eyes closed i could swear i could see an eye hanging from a viney-type tree [sorry only description i can give. my first instinct after seeing this was to think of it as my 3rd eye]. As i stared really hard into it i felt as though something was being pulled down inside me. then one of the speakers on my stereo made a huge beep sound [exactly like the sound it makes if you use a phone near it, but much louder and just one beep]. i jolted out of whatever trance state i was in and thought it was just my phone getting reception. so i tried to go back into my focus, and for some reason could quite easily. but every time i focused my hardest the speaker would do it again. until the last time i tried when i heard a big bang in the corner of the room. which was the lid of a box closing

After this i was so scared i just wanted to stay awake and watch tv.
my speaker didn't do anything strange again..

i have an open mind to the supernatural and whatnot, i'm not sure if it was something nobody can explain, or some sort of energy thing, or just plain coincidence and me over-reacting.

anyone got any opinions on this?
call me an idiot or a liar or whatever idc. i'm happy as long as one person gives me something constructive

also - the stereo was on standby, thats why it could still make the sound.

I wish I could tell you that you were close to having a WILD or something, but I haven't actually had one yet, so I couldn't say. [I think almost had one, and I can tell you that for me, I saw this teal-and-white static and heard a loud electric hum.] In all likeliness, that eyeball hanging from the tree was probably the hypnagogic imagery associated with becoming lucid via WILD.

Amendment: I just had had a WILD! Go me!

As for the stereo, I'd say turn it off completely the next time you feel you want to shoot for another LD. And if you still hear that beep, it must be in your head.

And the box lid slamming shut...well, that was probably just an unfortunate coincidence. In my experience, it's really unnerving and off-putting when you're drifting off to sleep and something in your room suddenly just decides to fall down for no apparent reason...

Go read about sleep paralysis, SP. It sounds like that's what you were going through. If so, that's what all the strange noises and sensations were from, therefore they were all in your head and nothing to be afraid of.
