Lucid dreaming is an amazing occurrence and there are many tutorials on this site to help you along. There are a lot of tips and tricks that will help you with dream recall, I never used to remember very many dreams but I can usually remember 1 if not 3 dreams a night now.

I learned about lucid dreams a good while ago, like last year. I have trouble getting them though. I get one every 3 months maybe, and for a couple days after that, I get excited about LD'ing again, but it doesn't happen, and then I just gradually forget about it until the next one.
