Question New to LDing, lots of questions...

Okay, I've been trying to lucid dream for the past couple of nights. I know not to expect anything too soon, but I was still hoping for some input. Here's what I plan on doing:
      1. Bed at 12:00. I will use a MILD at this time and hope to induce a DILD.
      2. Wake up at 5:00 for like 5 minutes and write down any dreams.
      3. Go back to bed and try to WILD. I have been using this tutorial.

I have already started a dream journal, but have a few questions:

      1. Should I be using WILD, or is it too early on?
      2. Should I try FILD instead? Should alter between doing the two methods?
      3. I've heard reports that eating peanut butter and bannanas can help dream recall? Are these claims true? If so, when should I eat them (before bed, after waking up)?
      4. n my first attempt at WILD, my whole body went numb, heated up, and my heart went faster. On my second attempt, I had a little more trouble. Is the first experience on the right track?
      5. I normally sleep on my side, but for WILD have been trying it belly-up? What is your recommendation on sleeping position.

I know I have a lot of questions, but I really want these lucid dreams. Thanks for the help! Also, I am looking for someone who is willing to adopt a newbie like myself, feel free to PM me!

      Cheers,

      Wesley Gray

Sounds to me like you are on the right track. Keeping a dream journal is incredibly important, since it will help you have the best possible dream recall ability. When you have your first LD you want to remember it!

The numb feeling, temperature changes, and sensation of a racing heart beat are all signs that you were entering SP and really close to being asleep.

From what I understand you would want to eat the peanut butter and bananas an hour to a half hour before bed. There are other ideas for foods (and vitamins) to eat to help you have LDs here:

You have to read down a bit, and it will say "sources of________."

Some of the more experienced WILDers were debating a while ago on the best position for laying while trying to WILD. Some say it is best to lay in your usual sleeping position, others say on your back. You can read that thread here:
