      Hello DV

As you may see this is my first post, I stumbled onto this community through a astral projection video on youtube(around 4am I feel the need to explore new stuff ) I am very excited about lucid dreaming and hope I can achieve such experiences with the help of the community. I'm Sure it will be a long process but it really seems like a rewarding experience, anyhow I look forward to talking to many of you, and maybe one day have my own LD

      P.S.
It's almost 8:30am and I've had no sleep yet, I look forward to practicing some techniques once I get sleepy enough. Any newbie advice is welcome!

Welcome, I'm new to this aswell (although I've had about 5 or 6 LDs so far) and this is a great community for the subject at hand. First step is to read the articles on the main site and then read some tutorials. If you get really into it (like I did, I got really excited about it when I first heard about LDs and found this site) you might have your first LD soon. I believe its something called Dream Residue where bits of your day creep into your dream so if your day heavily features thinking about LDs that might become part of your dream and, voila, you find yourself lucid.

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions

Hi there and welcome, i'm another seeker, i've had several borederline experiences and some full blown ones in childhood. Do you have any memories of your dreams/nightmares when you was younger as alot of people seem to remember things pointing to it. Anyway good luck in your quest for lucidity

I can only recall one past experience, which was about a year ago. I don't remember the dream itself, but only that i felt a very strong presence watching me, It was such a strong feeling I awoke from my sleep and couldn't really move. I quickly turned my head and focused my attention towards the other side of the room, at the same time my monitor came on, as if someone moved the mouse to make it come out of standby mode.

I really have no explanation to what went on that night, but it wasn't very pleasant to say the least.

Thats a good point. I've been watching videos on Youtube this morning and reading some articles and noticed people seems to have LDs at a young age but grow out of it, I've also notice that they they tend to be nightmares. My first LD I remember was a nightmare when I was about 5 or 6, is it common for early LDs to be nightmares or is it just a coincidence?

Of course you've gotten enough welcomes, but if it adds anything, let me say welcome. It's (usually) a great community, and everybody's (always) helpful and friendly with problems and questions. I'd love to give you the grand tour of the world of lucid dreaming, so PM me if you want. Like you mentioned, it's incredibly rewarding, so definitely keep at it and definitely you will get results. I'm not the best myself, but I'm not totally useless.

      Thank you

Today I had my first chance to attempt SP and WILD(I think this is the term). I lied down around 11am, by then people were making to much noise to concentrate on anything so I just went to sleep. I woke up around 4pm, started to get on my pc, then I realized I was still tired. I lied down and put on the lucidremix audio and tried to relax, but I couldn't! If I try to relax and focus my thought's my body seems to get "tense" and I twitch alot. Needless to say it was a failed attempt.. though this is expected since I am new to it, but I feel that I need to practice getting myself into a relaxed state. Is there any advice you guys could share on this?

I would also like to note that between 4pm-8:30pm I had 5 dreams!(I woke up after each one) this is very new for me, as I usually cant recall having any.

I will definitely need to start on my DJ asap
