      A Question for Newbies!

Just taking a general survey on wether or not you think that the adoption process works and how it has helped.
      Adoption

By voting on the poll you can remain enonomous if you do not want to post on the topic. So I urge all Newbies to at least vote. But feedback would help also letting the adopters improve aswell.

I havent been "adopted" so I voted none of the above. But in my case, Im not really ACTIVELY seeking to LD, so, doesnt seem adoption is appropriate for my case.

But let me say, I think its really cool that everyone here is so accepting, friendly, and welcoming to us n00bs!

      Why not?

OK, this will be a long answer, but here goes!

AS I've stated elsewhere, I have been having the sensations of an OOBE/AP (they're the same in my mind) unwillingly for the past few years. I used to be proficient at seperating, bt never got too far, and my senses were somewhat dull once I was "out". Anyway, point is, I am well aware of what the sensations are. I was researching the possibility of spontaneous AP, and came across an article describing the similarities between OOBE/AP and LDing. That lead me to research LD and eventually brought me here.

At this point, I havent made up my mind about exactly what takes place in a LD. I am very strong in my "religious" (even though I dont like that term and what it implies) views, and I dont wish to induce any spiritual experiences myself. So, I am not "trying" to LD. I have an attitude like, well, if it happens naturally, I think it would be pretty neat, but I'm not going to purpousely induce it....make sense? My feeling is that I dont want to manipulate things that I dont fully understand. I still havent figured out whether they're a "spiritual" occurrence, or if its very much just a scientific thing, you know, random electrical pulses inside the brain. Now, dont get me wrong, I am NOT judging any of you guys at all, I came here to learn from you guys, as Ive said already. I dont really feel yet that its a right or wrong thing, so please dont take me that way at all. The concept of LDing is really new to me and it's fascinating, and my mind is the type that MUST learn about millions of different things that catch my interest.

All that being said, I have had what seemed to me to be VERY close to an LD, which I posted in the "Lucid Experiences" section. Was a strange, and really neat, experience.

So, hope that wasnt too much of an answer!

I've voted that Im very pleased with the adoptions. Not only has lowecase society given me excellent feedback but others have also, which makes everything more closer together. Almost family like. I Like the adoptions. I cannot wait till I can adopt someone so I can help them also.

I think its useless. We're all here for the new people. Any discussion and any question they might ask is beneficial for the other newbies that might read those threads, and the newbies get different opinion and more facts and help. If they turn to their parent, they get one opinion, only the facts and help the parent can give, and its all done trough private messaging.

im already adopted, dont wanna be 3rd hand now (; what in a nutshell is adoption ? seems like a chain of command to me or a status thingy-muh-bob.... arent we all in the same pond when it comes to the related topics ? just varied degrees of insight distance some from others in order to teach in a non-structured way

I disagree. A newbie can & more than likely will still browse the forum for opions and Ideas. However, when you adopt a newbie through private messages you are on more of a personal level, wich might add some security to the newbie to ask question that he or she might not otherwise. Also this way a question should not go unanswered. I have seen several questions that get of topic in one or two posts without an answer to be cast away in the archives of posts.

I voted, because I still exibit newbie traits. I sometimes ask silly questions and have the uncanny ability to go for months on end without an LD!

      Seriously,
I'd say it would have helped because everyone doesn't posts messages asking small questions easiliy answered by adopters.

Well, im adopted as ya'll can see, but it really isnt any different from not being adopted. I dont have many questions, and Im just continuing on my merry little way. When I do have a question or anything, I usually post it in the forum anyways. But yea.. Then again im not one of those people who find it comfortable to talk one on one, and would much rather be in a small group. So..its not really beneficial to me, but im sure it is to others.

Im not adopted and so dont particiapte in the poll, ebcasue i really dont have any feedback for that. Im not looking for an adoption either. I think i did huge steps already anfd had my first LD 4-5 days after i read about.

I have to admit, that im still uncomfortable with LDs...especially with the "mental pain" (nightowl desription fits well) ,a lound soudn that was hurting already. And the LD itself was nice, but also it still is weird for me,to "run around" in my own brain.

Last night i hoped not to have a LD,and i didnt had one..even though i had HUGE signs that it was a dream, but my dream recalls were awesome from last night..five dreams and 6 pages in my dream journal.

I still pursue to learn more about LD and experience them, but in my own pace and i think this place really helps. I feel comfortable to write personal stuff and its just a great atmosphere here.

Even though i read more in the moment then i participate, im still see myself as an active member.

That is great that you feel there is a friendly atmosphere here. And taking Lucid dreaimng at your own pace is the only way to go.
Adopted or not I am glad you posted

"HAS HELPED" would have been my number 2 pick, but both are tied for 1st place now, which means that ADOPTIONS SHOULD NOT DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Even if some folks think that is makes their wittle fwiends too busy to PWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fu*king waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!)

Anyway, adoptions rule, just look at my happy little family below:
