      Dream Guides

This is my first ever post

Anyway, I wanted to ask about Dream Guides. I've seen the term used occasionally on the forum and I was wondering what it means, and how someone would go about finding it.

Also, I've managed to attain lucidity several times (I'm not completely new to this site, I just decided to sign up now), but end up waking up immediately, possibly due to excitement. Is there anyway I can avoid this?

      Thanks.

      to Dreamviews!

Different people think Dream Guides are different things. Some think of them as just recurring DCs, some think that they are actually your subconscious. I've never met my dream guide, so I can't give any personal input.

To avoid waking upon achieving lucidity, as soon as you realize that you are lucid you have to remain calm and stop what you were doing. Take a moment to do a reality check and then rub your hands together or spin around. The more experience you have, the less likely you will wake up. Also, be aware that some of these times you have "woken up" might actually be false awakenings. Do a reality check if it ever happens again.

      OK thanks.

I've just started writing a dream journal, and taking the idea of LDs really seriously, so hopefully I'll get alot more experience. As for false awakenings, I havn't even considered that till now!

      Thanks again.
