Smile A hello to everyone and first-time issues.

Hello everyone. I am new here, and from what i can see everyone here is friendly, something not able to be boasted by most forums. i look forward to meeting all of you.

      **** How i prepared ****

I came across the forums a few days ago and decided to try lucid dreaming. So in preparation I have been doing reality checks every once in a while to get used to them and have been scouring the forums in search of techniques, experiences, and anything that seems useful. I have attempted to keep a "dream journal" over these past few days and in the past but even immediately after i wake up i do not usually recall dreaming anything. i can only remember 5 dreams (including last nights) and i remember them vividly.

      **** The Problem****

Anyways, last night i decided "what the hell, i might as well try to dream lucidly". I started by listening to the "lucid dream introduction" (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=35033) MP3, i went over what i wanted to do that night (1 take control 2 find a way to go to the garden 3 go to the garden) and i attempted WBTB. So at 3 in the morning i awoke to my alarm clock (i wasn't sure if there was another way of waking up that was less "harsh" so i used the alarm clock) and went and got a drink and went back to sleep with the thought of dreaming lucidly in the back of my mind. i did dream, and i knew it was a dream (i had figured it out when i tried the "reading things twice" reality check) but i could not change the course of the dream what-so-ever. What might i try to achieve lucidity in my dreams? What other techniques should i use? Is there a combination that uses the same theme and works together better than using a bunch randomly? How to i take control of my dream?

Thanks for reading and i hope someone can help me out.

Well first, , and congrats on the Lucid you had. Even if you couldn't control it. Second, this thread will help you with Dream Control more than I can. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Anything can become easy with practice. Some methods work better for some people than others.
