Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone! I tried practicing lucid dreaming about 9 years ago after a friend loaned me his Nova Dreamer and wanted me to try it. I was proficient at keeping a dream journal (I consider myself a light sleeper, so I had no problems waking myself up using auto-suggestion. I kept the diary for about a month and had one lucid dream; I was able to incorporate the flashing red lights as dream signs.

Of course I was totally intrigued after that. I believe the wearing of the mask threw me off, because most mornings I would wake and it was off of my face, often covering my mouth! I read Stephen LaBerge's book from cover to cover and tried to incorporate the routines into my life. But, gradually I fell out of practice, and all but forgot about it. I was a few years into my advertising career and was getting busier and busier in waking life and forgot about it.

Fast forward to today. I'm 33, and am well along in my job and my life. For some reason, I was thinking about that dream and decided that I would get back into it. I started a dream journal again, and I have excellent dream recall most mornings, and most days I record 2 dreams. After 1 week of dream recall, doing reality checks during the day, and a MILD, I had a lucid dream. So I've been back in the swing for about 3 weeks.

I'm eager to learn techniques that work for others. I sometimes feel that I'm not doing things correctly, and that there are better ways to do the techniques. I have a feeling I'll be reading these boards often!

I'm not sure what the adoption system involves but if anyone wants to adopt me you can!
