Had a lucid dream.. i think?

So i think i had a lucid dream last night, but it wasn't really what i expected.
We were on a boat and suddenly this big boat started bombing us so I abandoned ship. Then after our ship blew up i realized i forgot my glasses on the boat but when I looked around everything was clear and thats when i realized i was dreaming. I swam to an island, jumped in the air, and started flying around. The weird thing was though that I didn't feel the happiness and freedom i have in past flying dreams. I just felt sort of anxious and like i had other things to do. Also, i looked up and there was a gross looking roof covering the sky which prevented me from flying higher. I felt myself waking up so I tried the spinning technique to stay in the dream and it worked. Then i tried making the roof disapear so i could fly higher but i wouldn't go away and thats when I woke up.
so why didn't it feel like a lucid dream should? was i only semi-lucid or something?
Also, any idea how i can make the roof go away next time? Hahah
      THANKS

No, you were fully lucid. It's just something that happens esepcially to new Lucid dreamers during DILDs. (A dream that becoems lucid in the middle of a normal dream.) You didn't have full control because of confidence most likely. You didn't think you could pass the wall, so you didn't. The wall is just your own self-doubt. As long as you don't beleive in your own abilities as a Lucid, that wall will remain. Maybe not that specific wall, but other similar barriers.

The length was pretty good, actually. Nice work remembering to spin.

Also, it sounded like you got a little antsy and excited. I'm surprised it didn't wake you, but that could very well hurt the dreams clarity. Remeber, it's all in your mind. If you aren't thinking clearly, the dream shant be clear either.

There are different levels of lucidity, clarity, and control that all come with time and practice. If you don't feel fulfilled and satisfied at first, don't be discouraged. On the contrary, be more dilignet. You can't run the five minute mile your first time around the track, you know...

      Good luck.

      Nice reply, spockman!

You probably didn't feel what you expected from a lucid dream because you felt rushed and weren't able to relax. The mind-blowing lucidity will come. Focus on relaxing. Maybe come up with a goal that you want to persue in a LD.
