      How long?

      How long does it take to start lucid dreaming? I try without prevail. Any ideas? tips? Everytime i notice i am dreaming i just wake up.

      For some it's one night, for some it's a few weeks. Just keep at it and it will come, and it will be worth it.

      You could try to placebo yourself up. A while back I read something that said peanut butter helps with lucid dreams. I ate a spoonful of peanut butter, and had a lucid dream that night. I'm pretty sure it was just because I thought it would help though.

      See I have tried this peanut butter theory and it never works for me..Is it different for other people?

      I also tried dark chocolate..didn't work either.

      Well i don't really know what to do. Currently I have been meditating a lot more then normal, I like to meditate and I figure it might help relax me so i do it more now then before. I listen to things before i go to sleep that are suppost to help, like binaural beats and a lady saying you will have a lucid dream!!! or somthing like that i don't know usual i fall alseep. What would you suggest?

      Maybe ill try a spoonful of peanut butter .

      Well a placebo is like a medicine or something that only works because you believe it will work. It's a mind over matter thing. That's why the peanut butter worked for me, because I believed it would. Just look around the "Attaining Lucidity" forum for some stuff that seems valid and if you think it might work, then hey, it might.

      Yesterday my mom tripped out for something and got mad at me and all this drama stuff. Well me being a really peaceful person and I am trying to learn buddism teachings and such just a interest, anyways... I went into the woods by my house to let my mom cool down a bit and I was out there sitting on the ground for 2 and half hours meditating. needless to say I was quite fine returning home.

      Well, since you said you meditate, I'd say you should try Auto-suggestion.

      But the real place to start is with your dream recall. How many dreams do remember per night? And do you keep a Dream Journal?

      What is Auto-suggestion?
      I have been recalling my dreams for about a week and a half or so. I usually remember 1 or 2 but if i set my alarm on my phone I can get 3 or 4.

      If its just the whole night its 1 partial and one full.
      If its with the alarm its 1 partial then 1 full (alarm) 1 partial then 1 full.

      Never mind i know what auto suggestion is. I do it in a way, I could probably do it a little more perseistantly.
      What would you suggest I say?
