Anyone remember lucid dreams from young ages?

Im 18 years old now and i remember specifically one lucid dream ive had. This was after a psychology class that i took in high school where we did a project about dreaming. I always have lots of dreams that i remember so i decided to try and make the project as interesting as possible. A few weeks after the due date, i had a lucid dream. I had always been interested by the idea but i never really tried to force one. I think i had them all the time as a tot.

Now that i know forums exist, i was wondering if any of you had lucid dreams as a kid (about 6 years old and younger if i recall). I dont remember any specifically but i remember thinking as a kid i had the power to control my dreams, and of course at that age i thought that was what all dreams were. I remember watching an episode of blues clues with my mom where a little talking bar of soap or something said he could change his dreams. My mom thought this was weird and said "hey thats not true" but i knew i had done it before.

I was probably around 8-10 when I had a lucid dream that I still can remember parts of. It's funny... I'll never forget what triggered the lucid dream b/c I was holding a bounce ball and it started talking to me and that's how I knew it was a dream.

      Welcome, Chazball!
Like you, I had a lucid dream in highschool, but I don't remember ever having them as a child. Out of the blue one day I realized I was in my dream, and I've been working at having them ever since In fact, ever since I joined DV I have learned a lot, and even realized some inexplicable childhood experiences were actually false awakenings!

I have read a lot on here about members experiencing lucid dreaming as a child... you guys are lucky! I think the widespread belief is that it is common for children to experience lucid dreaming, but for some reason (lack of interest/pursuit?) that ability drops off as you age... unless you're one of us haha

Sounds like you've got some pretty good experience with lucid dreaming! So welcome to the forums, I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting and helpful information

      yup

I have to say it was much easier to remember my dreams when I was younger. But of course now that years have passed and I never wrote any of them down, I only remember fragments. I think my first Lucid dream was when I was 9.

      hoi!

well yeah, i had a couple of LDs when i was younger (5 to 9 years) and i can still remember my first one, because it was a new stage of life for me; it was my LAST nightmare! ^^ and from that day on i started to have less...and less... and less... and less........ FEAR!^^ im serious! i only have to overcome one last fear.
yeah... and after that "young age" LDs i didnt even remember my dreams for... 6 years. ^^ i think thats because as a child you still believe in monsters and ghosts... who make reality unreal, so your dream conscious becomes more dominant, but over the years you dont fear those monsters and ghosts any more so waking life becomes real! ^^ so to say...
      LD goals:
      - fire- [*DONE*], water-, earth- and airbending
      - running up a skyscrapper
      - flying
LDs total: (some in my childhood, but) 3

I was maybe 10. I was a big DBZ nerd and expereince lucid dreams not regularly but on occasion with some reliabilty. At any rate, I wanted my next one to be on DBZ. Next time I became lucid, (didn't know the word back then,) I willed the world to become anime. Then I went super-saiyan and started flying (Nina style.) I cast Kami-kame-has for awhile then had a really good idea.

The landscape was this grassy plain with a stream running through it and cliffs in the background. I flew faster than sound feet from the ground, barely missing hills as I had to rise up when the ground came up and barely skirting around trees as they came at me. It was awsome, everything was blurry but I vividly saw that energy, spiky thing that surrounds someone flying really fast or has gone supersaiyan in DBZ.
