my first lucid?

erm i'm not sure if last night i had a lucid or just a vivid, i couldn't completly control my dream, i could control some things like my dream character but nothing else. it was pretty dark, infact i was seeing it in black and white. it was also pretty short i do remember having 2 dreams though. so whats everyones thoughts on this? lucid or just vivid

The key to knowing if a dream was lucid or not is did you know you were dreaming? Dream control, vividness, clear-thinking and such are all seperate from lucid dreaming. You can have a dream where you do nothing out of the ordinary from what you usually do in a dream, but if you know, at some point, that it is a dream then it is a lucid dream.

if you knew that you were dreaming then you were lucid dream.

By 'sort of knew you were dreaming' do you mean on some levels you knew but didn't compreehnd or understand it's implications? If so then yes, you had a lucid. That kind of lucid is called a partial-lucid. Unlesss you totally knew and it's a full lucid.
