How do you wake up from a "false awakening"

Any help appreciated. I have very vivid, real dreams anyway, but they are becoming even more frightening when I think I am awake only to find I am still dreaming a very vivid dream. It is nearly impossible for me to wake up. Any ideas?

Well, this might be uncomfortable for you, but...

I've only had 2 false awakenings.
In the first one, of course I thought I was really awake so I didn't do anything. After I really woke up, I realized that I'd have to do reality checks also after I found myself waking up. So the second time it happened, instead of enjoying this opportunity of a lucid dream (silly me ) I shocked myself awake.
Even if you don't scare easily, this should work i think.

      Hope I helped

One way to deal with FAs is to do a RC everytime you wake up. That way you will know right away wether you are really awake or not. Knowing it is a dream should make it easier to be calm when you FA, or to even enjoy it.

If you want to wake up for real there are a few things you can try. Close your eyes tight and then purposefully open them. Sometimes this will cause your real eyes to open, too, waking you up. You can focus on where your body is and how it would feel to be there (laying in bed). Try to feel your physical body and then to move it.

I usually wake up by simply deciding to do it. I feel my heart rate increase and then my eyes open.

      Good luck!

I turned an FA into a great lucid last night. Think of them as a golden opportunity.

      This is my 500th post.

Do a RC every time you wake up to turn FA's into LD's.
      Current projects:
      -Acquire the Aurora
      -Test galatamine, huperzine and choline
-Find smartwatch app for RC reminders at certain intervals
-Ressurect my dream log here, and become more active

I can totally agee with that from experience. That works if you can stay focused and not freak out or think too hard. I am learning from reading the threads that I can manipulate my FAs into my LDs by doing RCs, kinda like a glitch in the matrix
