I have always been good at dream recall and when I joined I started lucid dreaming and having control. All of my lucids feel like 30 minutes to an hour. |

How long did it take anyone here to become a good dream recaller and be able to have lucid dreams with some sort of control over them....if you have gotten that far. If you havent, please let me know how far a long you've got and how long its taken you. Can you dream recall pretty good? can you have lucid dreams? can you have lucid dreams with any control over them? Can you lucid dream with complete control? How long does it feel like you have been in your dreams with a nights sleep? (10 minutes, 1day, 1 week, a year, etc.) |

well I started a couple of years ago and had no success except for a tiny LD after about 2 months of trying. I got tired of having no success and stopped trying for a couple of years. I started again in october and had my "First" LD in about 3 or 4 weeks of trying. I found out that it was a lot more important to keep a dream journal consistently, this improved my dream recall from fragments into entire dreams every night in a couple of days. Since then Ive improved dramatically and can have long, vivid lucid dreams almost every time I really commit with a WBTB. |

LD's - 5
WILD's - 1
I had decent dream recall before I started. I would remember a dream or two every few days. The dreams that I would remember were always quite detailed though. I also had lucid dreams every so often before I started here. I would guess only one every few months if that though. Once I found DV I had great dream recall immediately just from wanting to remember them. I then had my first LD the second night I tried and then many more after that as long as I tried to have them. My control in my LDs still leaves something to be desired, but I'm working on it. My lucid's either end pretty much instantly end or they last a few minutes. I've just had a few that lasted longer. |

I really enjoy all the stories and accounts from other people, keep them coming. They are VERY motivating, at first it seemed too good to be true, like it seems as real as being a superhero but some many people have had them and now that i thought about it, i remember having a lucid dream with control when i was younger, but never since then. Please keep on responding, i enjoy the responses. |

took me three months after reading about it. I worked hard at it, and I was somewhat a "natural" to it. |
|
it took me 16 days to have my first LD after knowing about it |

I've not once, as of yet, had a LD. I've been here for just over a month. My dream recall has gotten much better, though. But all my dreams seem to last about 5-10 minutes, and seem to be in real time. I had only a few dreams where they felt longer than I think they were...one dream took place over the period of more than a day. |

I've been lucid dreaming for 8 years, and joined this site yesterday. Like the rest, I've always had excellent dream recall. Plus, I have been a total escapist ever since I can remember. I had my first daydream when I was 5, and have spent much of my free time doing it ever since. At one point in my life, I would hurry up on classwork so I could sit at my desk and fantasize. I think this is why I became so adept at lucidity and control. Honestly, I think the single most determining factor is the obsession with lucidity and control. Your mind will often carry it's waking obsessions into dreamworld. At least, mine does. |
