Hi - glad I found this place

      Hi everyone.

Ive been practicing Lucid dreaming by accident for a long time - kind of a bye product of Astral Projection / OOBE attempts.

Often my OOBE's (or AP's if you prefer) have directly followed a lucid dream. I would become aware I was dreaming, decide to fly or something, get carried away with the euphoria/bliss and wake up - normally straight into some pretty powerful Hypnogogic state of vibrations/noises etc - which I would then recognise as the precusor to an OOBE and then "will" myself out, then enjoying a full OOBE experience. I just didnt know that the "Dream Awareness" peice was known as lucid dreaming until quite recently.

I have been facinated by the occult and especially "Astral Projection" (which is a key stone of the occult) since I was a teenager. Books by such famous occultists as Crowley and Regardie provide full step by step examples on how to acheive concious exit into astral projection - Which looks exactly the same as the WILD technique.

Just because Im interested in the Occult does not mean I buy into everything - for I fully endorse that OOBE's/AP may be a type of Lucid Dream rather than "proof" that your conciousness/soul can leave your body - in fact I have not made my own mind up on this as yet. I DO however agree with Waggoner that there are a number of fundamental differences between a LD and an OOBE.

My events until recently were triggered by working some kind of ritual before bed to provoke an OOBE/AP. This isnt as much mumbo Jumbo as it sounds - most occult ritual is little more than entering trance (gnosis) and then programming your subconcious by a firm act of will (mantra/Affirmation/etc). These procedures are quite lengthy and involved and so have only managed approx one LD/OOBE per month.

Since "discovering" LDing and then reading books by LaBerge, Waggoner, etc) I am now refocusing on acheiving LD as often as possible - so recently started reality checks, DILD, etc - will attempt my first WILD this weekend.

Good luck! Since you're expirienced with OOBE I guess LD'ing will be easy for you.
