Reality Checks Gone Wrong...LOL.

I love funny titles. But anyway, I had a very strange dream last night. Wooo. Took me a long time to remember. LOL. ---- 10/14/04 I was in a little boy's lucid dream. He seemed to understand that he was in a dream. I showed him how to do the finger-through-palm RC, and, of course, his finger went through his palm. Mine didn't work, so I thought, "Huh. I'm awake. How about that." ( DOH! )Then I tried to show the little boy the things he could do. I realized suddenly that I was in a movie theater, watching my antics on the screen. I wondered, " A movie about LD?!? Wow! I gotta go tell DV! No, wait, what if DV made the movie?!?" Still stupidly thinking I was awake, I ran across the movie theater for you guys...who I could not find. LOL, I do remember thinking, " Darn! Why doesn't Seeker ever get on at night?" ))) Then...that was it. ----- EDIT: I would like to say that this is living proof that I'm addicted to DV, LOL. ------- ^^That's the dream. MY REALITY CHECK LIED TO ME! Has this happened to anyone else before?!? Haha, but it was nice to have a dream about DV. Please reply! NINOA! Great dream pinkcheese, Sounds like you are making great progress with your dream awareness and dream recall. You seem to be running into the same problem that I am, talking yourself out of a lucid dream when the reality check fails. I'm going to try using more conviction during my reality checks during the day to see if that helps any. You might try floating the next time you are doing a reality check in a dream. That is the one thing that always works for me in helping to become lucid. In any case, congratulations on the great progress you are making.

In the first truly lucid dream I can recall having, I had a reality check "lie to me". I was in this strange park with some friends from my past surrounded by a forest. You might say I accidentally became lucid, as I unconciously asked a friend of mine what it was like to be a dream character. He looked at me with a guilty look as if he'd been trying to hide from me that I was dreaming. I was now under full realization that I was dreaming, so I repeated to my self a few times "This is a dream, I am capable of anything I can imagine". The first thing I thought of was to try flying. I jumped up into the air, but had no success in flying. So I climbed up onto some kind of playground equipment. I told myself again, "I'm capable of anything I can imagine, INCLUDING FLYING". I jumped into the air and fell about 10 feet onto the ground. I started to wonder if I was really dreaming, and as I looked around I noticed some of my friends looking at me like I was crazy. At this point I lost lucidity. Anyone else have problems with dream characters trying to "cover up" that you're dreaming?

HAHA, wow pink, that was one interesting dream! But to answer your question, yes, I have a reality check that fails me sometimes. It's always the same one, and, oddly enough, it's my dream sign, as well as the main character of my first LD ever: tornadoooooooooooo. Damn thing has been haunting me my whole life. EVERYtime I dream about one, I question, "Am I dreaming?", and 50% I go "nope....it's real..." And it could be an orange one with green stripes and I'd fucking think it was real. Hehe, oh well. OH and sometimes I dream about my teeth falling out and it's the same exact thing: I question, and sometimes I think "yep, it's no dream...teeth are really falling out this time...all 2,174 of them." this kid in my dream last night came up to me and asked me how to do something like pay for parking or something, i suggested one way of going about it and then said "well, since this is a dream, i don't know why you couldn't." but i didn't go lucid. i just went about my business. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just more fascinating (I'm obsessed with them by nature, and wish to see one for real). But in my very first tornado LD, this small one picked up me and my brother, and spun us around all over the neighbourhood. And I said, "Hey Will, don't worry, it's just a dream man."
