I had my first, though i'd join and share

Tonight, I had my first lucid dream that I was able to control, it was very strange.

So, I dreamed I was at work, but it was outdoors, which it shouldn't have been. For starters I work at a casino, as a craps dealer (dice), and worked last night. At about 1:30, we called "last shooter" and closed the table, but in the dream it was 5:30, the table was open and had a lot of people on it. I looked at my watch, and although my time telling was off, I turned to my boss and said in the dream "Wait a minute, I called last shooter an hour ago" I then repeated myself, further making sense in my head "I called last shooter an hour ago, and brought the lid up" Then adding more "And we closed it, I swiped out, why is it open again and why am I here?" "I'm dreaming!"

So I guess I used my surroundings and making sense in my head as a reality check, is that strange? I then stood up on the table, and knew I wanted to fly, so I kicked off straight in the air, and was shocked to find, I went up, and kept going up. The feeling was amazing, I've never felt anything like it. I then starting losing control of my flying, and started going sideways when I was trying to go straight up, and then I woke up, but it was amazing.

I'm sorry this is so long and understand if you don't read it, but it was amazing and I really wanted to document it, and though where better? right?

I've read lots of stories on how some people's first LD experience is terrible. Glad to hear yours turned out so well. I think I've found myself entering a Lucid state by questioning my surroundings but I don't recall any examples. My lad LD started with a reality check (RC) where I pugged my nose and tried breathing. It must have finnaly carried over from doing it in real life so much.
