I'm new here. Obviously.

I've never had a LD, but I'm hoping that maybe someone can help me. Basically, my problem lies in the fact that in dreams, I'll perform my reality checks, and still won't become lucid. It's as if I don't recognize them as meaning that I'm dreaming.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Maybe you should try a new reality check. It seems like when you are in a dream, you don't understand what a reality check signifies.You need to make yourself understand what a reality check is. It confirms that you are in a dream. Tell yourself you will remember. Right it out a lot. Make yourself really understand what a reality check is.

Don't just do a RC without thinking about it; Get a feel for your environment when you do, try to just be more aware of your surroundings while you do it. This increases the chance you'll find something strange when you do it in your dreams.

Yes, I suspect that if you are already doing them in the dreams, it's a matter of how you are performing the reality check. I recently posted something on another thread that will help you out:
