      Unhappy I need newb help...

      hi, guys.

first of all, i have became lucid since i joined, but it was completley out of nowhere. i just suddenly realised, 'this isnt right...' and did a rc. but as soon as i became lucid, i woke up.

has anyone got any ideas to help me become more aware in dreams? the main annoyance is where something is obviously a dreamy thing, but i don't notice until i have woken up.

also, any tips for successful wilding?

ay man looks like your doing good. when you get into the dream remain CALM.
thats the #1 rule. always stay calm. #2 take in your surroundings. find out where you are and dont get all excited. the moment you get excited your going to pop right out of the dream. always used to happen to me.

      good luck, luke

First off, congratulations on your LD! It may have been short, but we all have to start somewhere

Practice, practice, practice. We all have blatantly obvious dream signs which make us wonder "How did I miss that?!" That's where reality checking comes in. RCing isn't just something you do, but it's questioning the world around you. It's about getting into the habit of asking yourself, "Is this real?" or "Does this make sense?" If it doesn't make sense, chances are you're dreaming. When you think of it, ask yourself questions such as "Where am I?" "What am I doing?" and "How did I get here?" If you can't remember the answer to those or the answers don't make logical sense, do an RC such as plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it.

Keep at it, though. Remain confident and you will be lucid more often.

As far as WILDs, that's not my area of expertise, but there are a number of excellent tutorials with advice under the Tutorials forum, so I would recommend checking those out. Also, feel free to use the search function below the banner to look for more posts on WILDing. There's a lot of information on the site already

Oh, and enjoy your stay at DV!

WILDs are hard. You should have some more DILDs, that how most people (including me) started. I still almost never WILD. MILDs work best for me, try that.

Welcome to Dreamviews, SkinnyBill. Congratulations on your first lucid dream, too! This link will give you most of the information you need to getting to WILD, however I would advise you become more accustomed to DILD. It is much easier for most lucid dreamers, and is doesn't require much other than falling asleep and remembering to check if you're dreaming in-dream!

Good luck to you, and happy lucids!
