How to dream whatever you want

I would like to know if there is anything you can do to have a dream about whatever you want, but not necessarily lucid. Don't get me wrong, just the idea of lucid dreaming is AMAZING, but I still like to have regular non lucid dreams from time to time because I find it interesting to observe my behavior in my dreams, and I would like to know how my dream self would react to certain dream elements.

Looking up how to influence your dreams lead me to lucid dreaming.
Maybe playing the dream scene over in your head a lot :/
      It seems kind of impossible.

Hopefully this will work for you like it did for me, if you can visualization. Kind of like meditate on what you want to dream about. This has happend to me a few times but once for example, i pictured this girl i know in a certain outfit, i thought about her that night for a while and, she appeared in my dream. In the exact same outfit. It was in the basement of my childhood house, and she was sitting on the couch and i was standing and we were just talking. She also appeared in the dream later and i saw her in the kitchen eating with some people i don't know who they were.

Dream incubation is a technique that some people use to influence what their dreams will be about. There are some tutorials on the forum about it, though the defining aspect of the technique is that you regularly focus your mind on a certain topic while you are awake and/or while you are falling asleep. This will sometimes result in you entering a dream with whatever you were thinking about intensely during the "incubation" period.

My personal advice is limited, so here are two links to two different types of dream incubation.

      VILD
      SCILD

      Good luck, and happy lucids.

Thanks for linking to my LD method, Daniel

CrescentFox, SCILD has worked well for me and I highly recommend it, lol.

i remember reading a few years ago that if you want to dream about flying, you imagine yourself flying before you go to sleep. i think autosuggestion works well, too. maybe you could even record a message for yourself to hear all night long confirming what you want to do. hope that helps.

      Thank you 16Candles,
I guess it isn't exactly what I was looking for, but it does help and gives me something to work on.
