      New to the 'View

As it turns out, I can't think of a single dream in recent history that I have not been aware of in part of its entirety. I stumbled upon this site via StumbleUpon and have never researched dreams or lucidity, but thought I'd see what was goin' on here. Apparently lucidity is something people yearn for. I can see that. It's pretty cool, but, for me, it can get in the way sometimes. Not that I'd change anything, but sometimes all I want is to sleep and dream without thinking.

I'm a compulsive thinker and I believe that is how lucidity became the norm for me. Never have I practiced of even had the notion to do so. I have very cool dreams and it occurred to me yesterday or the day before that I should try to use a dream to develop a device to record my dreams because a couple days before that I had a dream involving me, my grandma and my aunt. This particular dream started out with a conversation about cell phone voicemail about which my grandma was commenting and I was rebutting. My aunt chimed in along the same lines as me. My grandma continued on reinforcing her point and then it occurred to me what she meant... I had misinterpreted a point made by my grandma in a dream of my own. Not only that, but I managed to rope another family member into it and confuse her!

Then a fabricated cell phone company commercial set in circa '98-'99, but with newer technology ensues and turns to claymation with a young boy and girl on their knees bowing kinda like this stupid guy,http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...es/bowdown.gif but slower as if to praise the commercial appear, also in claymation.

Guess ya had to be there.

I need to stop talking to myself!

Apparently so. I know I've been aware of dreams in the past, but now I just take for granted that I'm gonna get to "watch" something different and weird in some way every night, several times per night. Probably my favorite nuance, which I will regard as my "signature" is the intricacy of a given portion or component of the dream. Sleep, I could take it or leave it, but the dreams must continue.

I know a few people have been worried about this happening.

If you are lucid every night, you can attempt and complete every goal, help with every test or every type of research.

I also like to have lucids where I don't take control... I notice I'm dreaming, and continue the dream. It is not hard.

Anyway, good luck. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Welcome to DreamViews Many times when I am lucid, I just like to know I am dreaming, but follow along with how the dream is set up, not taking control. Mabey that would be fun for you?

I have never "consciously" taken control, I have just taken note that it's a dream and and by that "control" has not been lost. More often than not, I just "watch". I don't know that I actually have the ambition or desire to participate. After all, I'm trying to sleep for God's sake. They're fun, though. I like the high, long, floaty, controlled jumps. Better than 90% of the time I cannot run fast or punch with any momentum and that is aggravating. However, I do have this sweet recurring dream where I'm running through a never-ending corridor of a cross between a Wolfenstein-esque, '60s Scooby Doo and something else I can't quite put my finger on castle.

      Man was that long-winded...

Anyway, thanks for the comments, suggestions, offers and overall welcoming!

In all the rigamarole, I forgot to finish why the dream is sweet. It's because I'm running almost parallel to the floor. Almost as if I'm pushing off of something behind me rather than beneath me. There you have it.
