Smile New to DV and LD

      Hi guys.

I've just discovered DV through (believe it or not) Google tonight when I was researching lucid dreams. I've always been fascinated by dreams - more than anyone I know. It was probably quite natural, since I usually have at least one dream per night, which I normally recall quite vividly.

I've only had 2 LD's in my life, one when I was very young (prepubescent age) which was a DILD [I was walking in a field, saw two dogs that didn't look like dogs, thought to myself WOW THOSE AREN'T DOGS, I'M DREAMING! and ran into a diner, telling everyone that I was dreaming. They told me to get under the table and close my eyes and count to 10, and I did so but nothing happened.], and one last summer while I was taking a nap during the afternoon [Scenes kept switching; ended up in my bedroom but my computer was different, thus came to a conclusion that I was dreaming. However, everything turned into static, both sight and sound, and when I woke up I was in sleep paralysis]. A few days ago, I had a dream, in which I had a dream about having a dream about having a lucid dream. This was all during a nap on the couch, and I kept having false awakenings where I was lying on that very couch.

Sorry for that huge blob of information; just thought I'd let you guys know my LD history.

It wasn't until I watched Waking Life that I became completely amazed by dreams, especially lucid dreams. I've known for a while that you could train yourself to have one, but I was always too lazy to try. However, I'm extremely curious, thus have joined this forum. YAY!

I'm thinking I should start keeping a dream journal starting now.

Tonight, I'm going to try to WILD, but I dunno how effective that'll be, for it'll be my first try. Actually, before, I was always wondering if I closed my eyes but still thought about being awake, if I would still fall asleep. I'd always open my eyes by intention and have a semi-just-woken-up feeling, if that makes sense....and if that has anything to do with anything.

Well well...we'll see how this all goes!
      I'll update you guys tomorrow

Oh btw, I have no idea why my username is Peach Fuzz. I was clueless on what to make it.

EDIT: Also, what's the most effective way to do a WILD?

to Dream Views, where all your dreams come true.

Goodluck with your WILD. It works better in REM, if you didn't know already.
I can link some tutorials for you to get started if you don't know where they are.

Ooh links would be much appreciated

I think I'm going to try just when I go to sleep, and try the WBTB early in the morning.

Well, I've got some potential LDing to do!
      Goodnight

WILDs are the hardest to do, so don't get frustrated if you fail. The beauty of them though, is that if you fail, it may give you a WBTB effect

Ah well since it was my first try, it didn't quite work. I was trying the counting my breaths method, but I ended up feeling funny and laughed. I woke up early this morning to try again, but found myself very tired and just in need of normal sleep. Later in the morning, I had more energy, and decided to try again, however the phone kept ringing, or my bird kept chirping, and I had to get up.

I was reading about the DEILDs and thought I'd probably try to train myself to do that. It sounds like once you train yourself to wake up but not move, it's really easy to go into a LD.

      I'm excited!

I remember most of my intense/interesting/different dreams from my past, even if it's 5 years ago. I remember once, when I was 8, I had a trilogy dream, which basically continued itself when I went back to sleep 3 nights in a row. It had to do with being kidnapped by blue aliens.
There's many more I remember, I think it's already pressed into my long term memory by now from telling it to my friends so much.

I've started a dream journal though!
