      Natural Lders

My cousin has been able to do LD ever since he has been able to go to sleep. Whats the deal? Do you have any advice for him?

heh, I was like him, every night 2-3 LD's.. I used to sleepwalk, LD while partially awake, OBE.. all that fun stuff. I am guessing he is young probably below 12, but maybe 13-14.. naturals are usually young, I lost my natural ability at about 13-14.. and I had to train and modify my sleep a bit to get LD's back.

LD's can be experianced by everyone.. but not everyone have them every night naturally, my best advice to you is DON"T EVER STOP TRYING. If you lose hope you won'y LD. As for him.. make sure he doesn't get to cocky about it, many people lose natural ability, so make sure he checks this place out and doesn't become lazy, or he'll have to learn howto LD again, which is annoying..

People like that make me so jealous!

I dont know, theres so many reasons why he could be a natural LDer, maybe he has naturally high levels of melatonin in his blood, or was brought up to think that dreams are more important than what others are brought up to believe...
Since people dont usually talk about dreams, he wouldnt have thought it wasnt normal until a later age. That could have contributed to it.

Well, whatever the reason, some people are simply natural LDers. Its annoying that some people can naturally do it, but i suppose its kind of like art, some people are natural artists and some have to work hard for it.

Try and get him to come on the boards!

hehe Damascus, they too make me jealous
My advice to your cousin, is develop that natural ability into a tool for self growth, or if not that than going to sleep can be a rocking time every night in your dreams
      n00bs i love you

That was helpful, its funny, he is 15, and he just barely found out that being a natural at it is pretty much unheard of. He he i'll tell him all of you guys' advice. See ya next time. Dooley The Clovis

Oh, then you're going to HATE me. You told me I'm a natural - and I had another LD this morning.

It was kind of frustrating. I walked into a courtyard and realized I was dreaming (if I'm recognizing dreamsigns, it's subconciously, I haven't yet actually connected a dreamsign with going lucid). I did the FTP RC and when it worked, put my fingers to my temple on both sides of my head and said "more lucidity now!" I put my hands to my sides and was about to try flying for the first time (I've never flown in a dream that I can recall) when a voice called my name.

It was my mom. I was so startled to see her that I snapped out of my dream. I turned to my roommates and told them about the dream...then woke up for real when I realized one was at work and the other is in San Francisco!

So, a question: if I hadn't woken from the false awakening, and realized I was dreaming because there was no way my roomies could be there, would I have gone lucid again? Lucidity-within-lucidty?

I tried to attempt your WILD tweak, btw, but never really heard the ringing in my ears. Maybe that's because the hypnalgogic imagery tranced me into sleep too fast?

One last thing - did you make that animated gif? It's awesome!

sounds like a short lucid dream, but what do you care with all your fancy naturalness?
and yeah, dreams can make you lose a sense of perspective, or whatever
in other words, you wont realise things like 'oh wheres my roommates' like you do in rl where you automatically know, you will have to directly think that. I dont know, am i explaining it right here?

you were about to try flying, first time eh?
      most people never get it first try, so a couple good techinque are;
try to grow wings, this works!
use a vaccuum cleaner and point the sucky bit where you wanna go, and itll suck you into the sky!
      hope that helps.

sorry, theres no way to tell if you could or couldnt, it depends on the person. some would some wouldnt.
but because of your natural talent i suppose you probobly would have.

I tried to attempt your WILD tweak, btw, but never really heard the ringing in my ears. Maybe that's because the hypnalgogic imagery tranced me into sleep too fast?[/b]
you can always hear the ringing in your ears. its the sound of blood flowing through your head. you can hear it anywhere quiet.
its very quiet and since we normally ignore it you may have to concentrate a tad to hear it. If you find yo go to sleep too fast then you should probobly try to concentrate harder. make sense?

One last thing - d[id you make that animated gif? It's awesome![/b]
nupe, but thanks for commenting on it. i quite like it myself.

      hope that helped!

you should talk to LDguy just run a search for him (look up) he claims he has 2-3 LDs a night most of the time, but that he learned it, not so much it comming naturally to him, he said its all because of the HILD technique, (hypnosis induced lucid dreaming) i have more luck with mild and wbtb methods

What is strange with many natural LD is that they get bored of LDs!!! i mean, i dont know but, its like this boring bus ride you have to take to get from home to school every morning. But for all of us others looking in to that bus we want that bus ticket so badly that we almost jump onto the bus in high speed clinging to the windows like a spiderman yelling "go web go!".

It has to do with how one greew up. It could be all possibl things like Damascus said. But if you give a blank sheet like a baby a drawing pen and some paper he will end up like picasso, you give him toy gun he will be a solider, you give him a tv and turn on the daily news he will be a lazy tv politican... but if you give him both a gun and a tv turning on the president election he will be bush. So from this i draw the conclusion that the earlist impressions you give to a child will effect his every action the rest of his life, just like his action later in life will effect him later later in life and so on. Its like a tree of choise. Once your on a branche your doomed to follow it to your leaf of choise.
